Chapter 166 Unifying the World
Chapter 166 Unifying the World
Without waiting for their reply, I quickly flew towards the ravine, because there were so many flies there, so I could take advantage of the chaos and see what was going on.
We're seeing if we can get in, but we don't know what's going on inside.
I found a spot as far away from the center of the battlefield as possible, and asked a fly, "Hey bro, I just got in, what's going on?"
The fly I asked seemed quite puzzled: "Did you just arrive? Why aren't you guarding the base camp? What are you doing here?"
Wow, she's very responsible and not easily fooled.
"I was just bored at home, so I came to see what it was like. With the help of that giant snake, aren't we on the verge of victory? I just wanted to broaden my horizons," I quickly explained.
"Forget it, it definitely wouldn't have worked before, but today is different. In that case, let's see what it's like. Today is an important day for unifying the world," the fly said smugly.
Unify the world? Doesn't this fly worry about its tongue getting caught in a strong wind? I find it all so ridiculous.
Of course, I dared not laugh out loud, so I quickly said, "That's right, who is our king? He might be able to lead me to victory in this battle."
As the saying goes, flattery will get you everywhere, but it will never get you anywhere. Although I feel disgusted by what I'm saying, I'll continue to be disgusting in order to complete the task smoothly.
"Hey bro, what's going on? Why can't we break through from here?" I asked, puzzled.
"What do you know? This is called psychological warfare. What's it called again? It's getting the enemy to surrender without firing a single shot," the fly-clothed man said knowingly.
"Without shedding blood," I said from the side.
“Yes, yes, yes, that’s the word. I heard the King mention it last time, but I couldn’t quite grasp its meaning. It seems you’ve also heard the King speak about it, right? That’s the meaning,” the fly said smugly.
Where am I supposed to listen to that king's speech? If you can't use idioms properly, don't embarrass yourself. Isn't this a case of showing off and getting slapped in the face?
But I couldn't say it outright; I was hoping to find some clues or a breakthrough in this fly.
"That's right, who is our king? He's awesome! So what do we do now? Just wait here?" I asked curiously.
"Of course not, we just gave them a time limit. If they don't surrender by the time it's up, then we'll have no choice but to storm in and fight to the death," the fly explained.
"It's a fight to the death," I explained from the side.
The way they used the idiom... I really don't know what to say.
"Anyway, no matter what kind of death or destruction it is, it's time to leave this world. Just rush in when the time comes," the fly explained.
"What happens after you rush in?" I asked curiously.
"Are you stupid? What else can you do after you rush in? Kill them all, kill them all, eat them all!" the fly said excitedly.
Holy crap, is this a fly or the Japanese invading the village? Even with the Three Alls Policy in place, I never imagined the insect world's living conditions would be this harsh.
"How much longer?" I asked curiously.
"It'll be a few more minutes. If they don't come out soon, we're going to rush in," the fly explained.
"Hey, how do you keep track of time? Is there a clock inside?" I asked curiously.
"So you're really new here? I asked you before if you were something, but now I'm convinced you're just stupid. Don't you know animals have a biological clock in their brains? Can't you calculate it yourself?" the fly said to me with great disdain.
Holy crap, I almost rushed over and strangled that damn fly. How could it be so awesome? My temper is about to explode.
But I do need their help now, so I can't let a small act of impatience ruin my bigger plans. That's why I held back.
"So we're just going to wait here?" I asked again, still unwilling to give up.
"How could that be? We already sent a reconnaissance team in to check the situation, but they haven't returned yet, so we're waiting for news. After all, even if we were to attack, we would need to know the enemy's route before we could launch an attack," the fly explained.
Just as I was about to ask more questions, a commotion suddenly came from not far away, as if some order had been given. Then a fly flew over and said something.
Then the fly said to me, "Now it's time to go in and gather information for our group. Let's go."
After saying that, the fly rushed inside, and I quickly followed it in. Damn, I was wondering how I could get in! I never expected such a good opportunity to come along.
After we rushed in, I realized a problem: only my fly and I flew in, and none of the other flies followed.
"Wasn't it supposed to be a team?" I asked, puzzled. "Wasn't it supposed to be a team coming in to gather information? Why are there only the two of us?"
"I already said it's a small team, I already said it's reconnaissance, how many flies do you want? Do you expect them all to rush in?" the fly in front said disdainfully.
Holy crap, how come this fly is so good at showing off? Where did it learn all that? It doesn't have any real skills, so how can it be so awesome just by showing off?
"If you were really capable, why would you be sent here to die?" I thought to myself, feeling quite frustrated.
"Wait till I get inside and see how I deal with you," I thought viciously to myself, as I followed the fly and rushed inside.
The flies in front of me flew cautiously toward the inside, but I wasn't worried at all because I wanted to meet other flies so we could reunite and figure out a way to defeat the flies outside.
We flew for quite a while without encountering any other flies, but we did encounter a lot of messy grass roots around us, making it extremely difficult for us to fly. If we weren't careful, we would crash into those grass roots.
"Where are we going? We haven't seen anything on the way. Not to mention the flies that came in earlier, we haven't even seen the flies from the other side!" I asked from behind, quite puzzled.
"You're asking me? Who am I supposed to ask? All you ever do is ask, ask, ask. If everyone keeps asking me, I might as well be the king!" the fly in front said, clearly annoyed.
Judging from his tone, there was now a burnt-out furnace, and he was clearly getting anxious, losing the composure and calmness he had when he came in.
Just as we were cautiously flying forward, several flies suddenly swarmed out and blocked our way. Our instinctive reaction was to turn around and run away, but our escape route was also blocked by the flies.
We were completely surrounded...
