Chapter 1322 Our own Chinese land should be our own to decide.
Chapter 1322 Our own Chinese land should be our own to decide.
Zuo Mingyue, Niu Niu, and Nuan Nuan were all very happy, especially Zuo Mingyue. She was a true-blue Beijing girl who harbored deep resentment towards foreign countries. If she could return to a place where everyone was Chinese, that would be the best thing for her.
The happiest person here was Guo Yingnan. He was really rich now. His brother had become the Secretary for Security, and from now on, even the foreign police superintendents in Hong Kong wouldn't dare to mess with him.
Da Bao wholeheartedly agreed with Guo Yingnan's idea. It should be this way. Our own Chinese land should be ruled by us. What are you, a stupid foreigner, doing swaggering around? There was a country like yours in the Eight-Nation Alliance. If I don't teach you a lesson when the time comes, even if I'm a vegetarian and a Buddhist, I'll be merciful.
And so the matter was settled. Next, the family, and even their friends, enthusiastically began naming the second, third, and fourth children.
Qin Qingyou was so excited his face turned red. He was about to take on the naming project, but unexpectedly, Lu Xiu'e kicked him out. How dare he still name the children? She had two sons, one named Qin Dabao and the other Qin Erbao, and a daughter named Qin Niuniu.
This sounds like a nickname, it's not presentable at all. He's shameless, he still wants to name his child.
Da Bao thought for a moment. His eldest daughter was named Qin Nuannuan, and the names should follow that pattern. His second daughter would be named Qin Xianxian, and his third daughter would be named Qin Beibei. As for his youngest son... should he be named Gou Dan (Dog Egg) or Gou Dan (Dog Egg)?
The fourth child cried out in his swaddling clothes. Qin Qingyou rushed in from outside to try and soothe his grandson, but he couldn't calm him down no matter what he did.
Zuo Mingyue chuckled and nudged Da Bao.
"Let's give our son a proper name. His nickname will be Gou Dan (Dog Egg), and his formal name will be Qin Ting (Qin Courtyard). Ting is the same as in courtyard."
Unexpectedly, the fourth child's crying stopped abruptly, indicating that he had understood his mother's words, and everyone burst into laughter.

Buckingham Palace is about to hold an important meeting, requiring all titled nobles to attend. There are currently 178 nobles in London, but only 26 of them are hereditary.
These nobles were divided into five ranks: Duke, Marquis, Earl, Viscount, and Baron.
The Queen held the meeting in the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace, located in the Westminster Borough of London. Buckingham Palace covers 18 hectares and has more than 700 rooms.
She held the meeting in the State Hall, which shows how much importance the Queen attached to it.
The men in attendance were all dressed in tailcoats, top hats, and carrying black umbrellas, while the women wore long dresses and floral hats. The dresses were either black or white and made of brocade.
The meeting was held at 2 p.m., which was afternoon tea time, so the Queen prepared refreshments for the guests.
Harold Macmillan also declined the meeting. He was the only prime minister to have been knighted, and the hereditary Earl of Stockton. His son, Henry, was also knighted as Viscount Macmillan, and he could attend the meeting.
John Davis was a hereditary baron, but the title ended with his generation. He was preparing to donate a sum of money to the Queen in hopes of ensuring the continuation of the title.
At 2 p.m. sharp, led by a ceremonial team in white uniforms, the Queen entered the State Room. On her left hand she held the hand of a fifteen-year-old boy, Prince Charles, and on her right hand she held the hand of her godson, her eldest son.
Behind him followed Princess Sofia, Zuo Wenbin (family members were allowed to attend the meeting), Zuo Mingyue carrying Nuannuan, and holding the hands of Athena and Edward.
This scale was already quite unprecedented, but there were no reporters taking photos in the State Room; only the Queen's personal attendants took photos as souvenirs.
The Queen walked to the center, flanked by her biological son and godson on either side.
She spoke loudly into the microphone.
"My subjects, I have invited you here today to announce two things. First, I have decided to confer upon Charlotte Chin, First Duke of the Kingdom of Denmark, the title of Duke of Westminster of the British Empire, which shall be hereditary and permanent."
Da Bao stepped forward and bowed deeply to the Queen, then bowed deeply to the guests. Although the guests had reservations about Da Bao's skin color, they still applauded enthusiastically out of gentlemanly manners.
The Queen ordered her men to bring the Royal Charter, which she personally signed. Then, the Lords official in charge of the Register of Peers registered the Prince and his family, thus officially recognizing him.
Finally, the Queen produced a palm-sized pure gold badge, which would become the symbol of the Da Bao family. Yes, now the Da Bao family could be considered a prominent European family.
The Queen personally handed the badge to Da Bao with both hands. Da Bao bowed and accepted it, but secretly grimaced, thinking that the Western dragon was too ugly.
After the title was conferred, the Queen spoke with a beaming smile.
"The second thing is that Charlotte will henceforth be my godson, Queen Elizabeth II."
There's not much of a commotion about that. If the Queen wished, she could have a hundred or a thousand godchildren. Of course, scarcity increases value, and so far, the Queen only has three godchildren.
Next came the ball, where some noble ladies tried to flirt with Da Bao, but Da Bao, with his wife and daughter in his arms, kept spinning around on the dance floor, making his wife and daughter laugh heartily.
His unbridled behavior naturally drew criticism from the nobles, but Da Bao didn't care and was too lazy to talk to these poor bastards.
After the award ceremony, Da Bao became the talk of the town in high society, and in their mouths, he was quickly disgraced...
……
Lei Luo is having a tough time right now. Although he is the head of the Criminal Investigation Department and a high-ranking officer in the police force, these foreign superintendents still treat Chinese people like dirt.
They'll stop at nothing to make money. Now they're teaming up with two TV stations to hold some kind of Miss Hong Kong pageant. Apparently, the top three Miss Hong Kong winners will get direct roles in TV dramas.
Lei Luo knew this was another new trick of deceiving people, but he couldn't do anything about it. Even one of the top hostesses at a nightclub he was keeping told him she was going to participate in the Miss Hong Kong pageant, meaning she wanted him to pay for it.
Hong Kong currently has two television stations (unfortunately, to enrich the storyline, we had to introduce two stations early, please don't criticize!), TVB and ATV.
Originally, this had nothing to do with Lei Luo, but the four major families bribed two chief superintendents in an attempt to expand their drug business, actually wanting to break free from Lei Luo's control.
However, the two current Chief Detectives, Lam Kong and Chan Sai-gau, are relatively obedient. After all, they are considered to be from the same school as Lui Lok. But the Chief Superintendent has already declared that since there are four major families in the underworld, then there should be four Chief Detectives in the police force...
