Chapter 1347 Coming ashore
Chapter 1347 Coming ashore
Shuichi Akai turned to James: "It seems that this ambush operation against the organization has failed."
Carmel's crash also meant that he could no longer continue his decoy mission; he couldn't very well have to race against the car with his bare hands, could he?
James sighed softly, "It's good that they're still alive. Judy, tell George and Paige to go back."
“Okay,” Judy replied, relaying the instructions.
George and Page were somewhat unwilling after receiving the order, but they had no choice but to retreat.
Yu also sighed: "I didn't expect that after setting up so many things, and losing several people, we still couldn't even capture a single member of the organization."
"Especially the person who realized the rendezvous was a trap, who exactly was it..."
Kudo Yusaku said with a serious expression, "No, that person was probably just being cautious and didn't really see that there was a problem with the rendezvous."
"However, regardless of the circumstances, this operation has failed. It seems we really underestimated the strength of this black-clad organization."
Everyone was silent.
After some time, Carmel successfully reached the shore.
"Carmel, do you know where you are? Your phone is unusable after it got wet, so we can't locate you."
Carmel took out a wolf-eye flashlight from his pocket, shone it around, and only saw a "No Entry" sign.
"It's too dark to see anything around me." He looked around. "It must be some small island in Tokyo Bay."
There are several islands in Tokyo Bay, but if you know they are on an island, it takes a lot of time to find them.
He soon discovered a man-made staircase that looked very sturdy, and he guessed that there must be some kind of facility on the island.
James told him to look for any distinctive buildings so they could determine exactly where Carmel had swum to.
Carmel went up the stairs to the top and was surprised to find a ruin that looked like a gun emplacement.
"A fortress?" Conan pondered. "That could be either the First Sea Fortress or the Second Sea Fortress."
"Seaburg?" James asked, somewhat puzzled.
Conan explained, "Those are the ruins of a sea fortress built in Tokyo Bay to defend Tokyo. There are two other such ruins."
No sooner had he finished speaking than Carmel made a new discovery: he found a building made of red bricks.
Kudo Yusaku began, "Could you explain in detail how the red bricks are laid?"
“Okay, let me see.” Carmel approached the building and shone his flashlight on it to examine it. “Each layer of red bricks here is arranged with alternating large and small bricks.”
Upon hearing Camel's description, Kudo Yusaku said decisively, "In that case, that must be Umizaru Island."
James looked at Yusaku Kudo with a puzzled expression.
Kudo Yusaku explained, "What Carmel saw was the French masonry method. I remember that only the buildings on Umizaru Island used the French masonry method in that area."
Judy quickly said, "Carmel, you wait on Sea Ape Island. We'll send someone to find you."
"clear."
James pondered for a moment and said, "Then who should we send to pick up Carmel?"
“Let me go,” Shuichi Akai’s voice rang out.
James instinctively objected: "But Akai, if those guys see what you look like..."
If the organization discovers that Shuichi Akai is still alive, then Rena Mizunashi...
“Of course I’ll go out looking like this,” said Shuichi Akai.
James turned around in surprise and discovered that Shuichi Akai had somehow changed into Subaru Okiya's disguise.
Yukiko Kudo was standing behind him, smiling as she said, "Considering that Mr. Akai is going to Umizaru Island, I specially added a waterproof effect that can withstand wind and rain!"
Yuya's eyes lit up: "Oh? You can do that? Aunt Yukiko, you must teach me this technique."
"Huh? What did you call me?" Yukiko Kudo glared at Yuya with a dark expression.
Yuya's heart skipped a beat, and she subconsciously took a step back: "Y-Yukiko, sister?"
Yukiko Kudo nodded in satisfaction and said with a smile, "I'll teach you after this is all over."
Everyone: "..."
Kudo Yusaku covered his face in exasperation—the family hierarchy was completely messed up!
Judy said into the radio, "Carmel, Show is coming to pick you up now, just wait there."
Just as Carmel was about to agree, he suddenly sneezed loudly.
Judy asked anxiously, "Are you alright, Carmel?"
Carmel replied, "It's nothing serious, my clothes are soaked, but they should dry after walking around for a while."
"No!" Conan shouted. "You'd better take off your wet clothes right away, or your body temperature will keep dropping. It's very windy on Umiju Island, and that will be troublesome."
“I remember there’s a campsite on Umiju Island. There’s a management office there. Let’s find something to burn and make a campfire to keep warm.”
"I...I understand." Carmel realized what would happen if he suffered from hypothermia on the island and quickly agreed.
However, he immediately ran into a problem: "But I don't have anything to start a fire with."
Conan said, "That's simple. Just attach the foil from a chewing gum package to both ends of the battery, and you can make a simple fire starter."
Carmel was somewhat skeptical, but he still did as he was told.
He easily found what he needed at the seaside campsite, built a campfire right there on the shore, and successfully lit it following Conan's instructions.
"It can actually start a fire?" Carmel looked at the gadget in his hand in amazement.
While Conan was instructing Camel on how to light the fire, Shuichi Akai was also ready.
“I’ll go with you,” Yuya offered.
Hideaki Akai nodded slightly.

the other side.
Gin and the others also left Haiying's parking lot.
Inside the Porsche, Gin was communicating with his subordinates.
"Is that so? I understand. You should leave before the police arrive."
Amuro Tooru casually asked over the radio, "What's the situation now? That car that fell into the sea from Haiying's parking lot?"
Chianti said, somewhat annoyed, "Hey Bourbon, why haven't you left yet?"
Amuro Tooru shrugged and said nonchalantly, "Don't say that. I didn't drive here. Do you expect me to walk back? I did help you out, after all."
Chianti scoffed, a little annoyed, but didn't say anything more.
If she really lets Bourbon go back, Rum will probably cause her trouble.
Gin said coldly, "Stop arguing. I had the special forces team dive down to the bottom of the sea and search, and the driver is indeed no longer in the car."
Over the radio, Chianti said irritably, "I was wondering why that guy suddenly became so smart. He was so easily surrounded by us, and he and his car fell into the sea."
Cohen: "I also find it strange."
Amuro Tooru chuckled and said, "Could it be that this person is smarter? After all, he once fooled Gin's eyes."
Gin clicked his tongue silently. Bourbon, that guy, is really annoying.
Vermouth, however, had another speculation: "It's also possible that the entire FBI think tank is helping him."
"Huh? Why?" Chianti was annoyed. Was it really necessary to make such a fuss over a mere FBI rat?
Vermouth chuckled softly, "Who knows? Cohen feels like he's seen that man somewhere before; maybe there's some connection between the two."
Vodka guessed, "So, if this man's identity is exposed, it will be very disadvantageous for those guys?"
"That won't do!" Gin's expression twisted into a grimace as he coldly declared, "How can I swallow this insult if I can't even meet with this FBI agent?"
