Traveling through the world of beasts: Beast husbands! Stop snatching!

Chapter 280 That's practically suicide.

Chapter 280 That's practically suicide.

This is an extremely dangerous plan.

Although Aoshuang did not know Hui, he was aware of Fugui'er's strength.

The person who has been able to control Fugui'er for so many years must be quite powerful.

Therefore, for Fugui to go alone is tantamount to sending himself to his death.

More importantly, where exactly is Qinghan being held?

Fu Gui'er didn't say anything, and Ao Shuang had no way to ask.

He could only go back as soon as possible to discuss countermeasures with Xiao Chu and the others.

The snow sculpture flew at full speed through the night sky, its wings cutting through the air and making a low, rumbling sound.

Ao Shuang's heart was pounding, not because of flying, but because of everything she had just heard in the cave.

Fugui'er's words, his expressions, his pain and his resolve.

It doesn't look like acting.

He truly loved Qinghan, and he was truly atoning for his sins.

But this does not excuse his mistakes.

How much suffering has Qinghan endured during her years of imprisonment?

Someone has to pay this debt.

Ao Shuang's eyes turned cold, and with a sudden flap of her wings, she increased her speed even further.

Mutian City, Xiao Chu's room.

It was still dark, and an oil lamp was lit in the room, casting a dim light.

Xiao Chu sat at the table with a map spread out in front of her, studying something.

His brows were furrowed, and he looked exhausted, clearly having not slept all night.

He had been waiting here ever since Aoshuang left, while also organizing the information he had on hand, trying to find more clues.

However, the results were minimal.

Just when he was at his wit's end, a gust of wind suddenly came from outside the window.

Immediately afterwards, a figure landed silently on the windowsill.

Xiao Chu suddenly looked up, her hand already on the weapon at her waist.

But when he saw the person's face clearly, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Ao Shuang?" He stood up and walked quickly to the window. "You're back? How are you?"

Ao Shuang jumped down from the windowsill and landed silently.

His complexion was terrible; he looked travel-worn, his eyes bloodshot, but his gaze was sharp as a knife.

"Have you found Fugui'er?" Xiao Chu asked eagerly.

Ao Shuang nodded, then walked to the table, picked up the kettle, and took several large gulps.

Water streamed down his chin, wetting his clothes, but he didn't care.

After finishing his water, he put down the kettle, turned to look at Xiao Chu, and his eyes were gloomy.

"I want to ask you about someone," he said, his voice hoarse. "Hui, do you know him?"

Xiao Chu paused for a moment, then immediately nodded: "I know, why ask him?"

Hui is a well-known figure in Mutian City, after all, he is the face of the Beast God and the only remaining disciple of the Beast God.

“Fugui said,” Aoshuang said, each word seemingly squeezed out from between her teeth, “that he was the one who imprisoned my mother.”

Xiao Chu's eyes widened, and the map in her hand fell to the ground.

"what?"

How can this be?

"You must have misheard me, right?" Xiao Chu asked instinctively, her voice filled with disbelief.

Ao Shuang's face was gloomy, and her eyes were so cold they could freeze a person to death.

“Absolutely not,” he said, his tone resolute. “He imprisoned my mother and used her to blackmail Fugui’er into working for him.”

Xiao Chu gasped, freezing in place.

The amount of information was too much for him to process all at once.

The comet imprisons the clear, cold sky.

Fu Gui'er worked for Hui.

Moreover, did Fugui already know Hui's true colors?

Xiao Chu's mind raced as she tried to piece the fragments together.

If what Aoshuang said is true, then many things can be explained.

Why has Fugui'er always been so mysterious and elusive all these years?

Why is he so reluctant to talk about Qinghan?

Why did he say those farewell words that day?

Because he was always under Hui's control and forced to do things for him.

He did all of this to save Qinghan's life.

This realization weighed heavily on Xiao Chu's mind.

He suddenly remembered something, turned around, walked to the desk, opened the cabinet, and began to rummage through it.

The cabinet was a mess, piled high with all sorts of documents and odds and ends.

Xiao Chu searched for a while and finally found the card at the very bottom.

This is what Fugui left him; it contains all of Fugui's belongings.

He held the card, his fingers trembling slightly.

Fugui left all his money to him.

This shows that he was prepared to die and had no intention of coming back.

Xiao Chu closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and forced herself to calm down.

“Ao Shuang,” he turned to look at Ao Shuang, his voice serious, “What else do you know? What else did Fu Gui’er say?”

Aoshuang recounted his conversation with Fugui'er in the cave, including Fugui'er's plan to kill Hui.

After hearing this, Xiao Chu's face turned even paler.

“He’s gone mad…” he muttered. “Going to kill Comet alone? That’s just suicide!”

Xiao Chu knew very well just how strong Hui was.

“We must stop him,” Xiao Chu said decisively. “Find him and stop him before he does anything foolish.”

Ao Shuang didn't speak, but just stared coldly out the window.

The murderous intent in his eyes said it all.

All he wanted to do now was find Hui immediately and tear him to pieces.

Xiao Chu opened her mouth, as if she wanted to say something, but ultimately didn't.

He understood Aoshuang and knew that once he made up his mind, no one could stop him.

"Then be careful." That was all Xiao Chu could say. She took out a small bottle from her pocket. "You can drink this. I got another bottle from Xiao Xiao. It could save your life in a critical moment."

Ao Shuang took it and drank it.

Before leaving, he said to Xiao Chu, "Fu Gui'er has already drunk his bottle."

Xiao Chu was stunned: "You gave it to him?"

“Yes.” Ao Shuang nodded, “In Qing Han’s name.”

Xiao Chu was silent for a few seconds: "Thank you."

Ao Shuang didn't say anything more, turned around, and jumped out of the window.

Silvery-white wings unfolded in the night sky and quickly disappeared into the horizon.

Xiao Chu stood by the window, looking in the direction where Ao Shuang had disappeared, and remained motionless for a long time.

He was still holding the card in his hand, the cold touch coming from his palm.

------------

Deep in the desert, a dilapidated stone house appears and disappears amidst the sandstorm.

This place looks like an abandoned ancient ruin, with only broken stone pillars and half a wall swaying in the wind.

A king cobra silently emerged from beneath the sand, then transformed into human form and gently pushed open the door.

Chen was lying half-reclined inside, leaning against the bare wall, his face pale.

"You've come." His voice was extremely weak.

Fu Gui'er took out a small packet of Dust Flower seeds from his pocket and handed it to him.

Chen impatiently opened the animal skin bag, then frowned, "I've waited so long for this, and this is all I get..."

Fu Gui'er stubbed out his cigarette and gently exhaled a smoke ring: "This is the last time I'll come here. From now on, you'll have to rely on yourself."

Chen suddenly looked up and stared into Fugui's eyes.

He wasn't complaining that Fugui'er had abandoned him, but rather he understood what Fugui'er's words meant.

The two remained silent for a long while before Chen choked up and asked, "Are you really sure?"

Fu Gui'er: "I've thought it through. Anyway, it's no different from being dead now, is it?"

Chen smiled bitterly, "Yes, it's no different from being dead, and so am I."
