Chapter 197 Convergence
Chapter 197 Convergence
Late at night, the roars of zombies could be heard on the streets of Petersburg. These guys, who had been hiding somewhere during the day, appeared.
Alan lay quietly on the bed in the motel and fell asleep. The lights in every room were off and the zombies did not notice anything unusual about the motel.
Alan's walkie-talkie was placed on the bedside table. She had plenty of batteries, so she always kept the walkie-talkie turned on to receive messages from her compatriots in the Destiny Front.
The people from the Destiny Base went to various parts of the United States. Sooner or later, they would meet again and build another home together.
What Alan didn't know was that in each pioneer team, there were many soldiers deployed by Zhang Qiang, and they never revealed their identities.
"Maggie, there is a group of zombies ahead, we should take a detour."
The intercom on the bedside table suddenly rang. Alan opened her eyes suddenly. She heard the voice of Officer Rick from Gran Town.
Rick is talking to Maggie on the universal band.
Alan sat up, picked up the intercom, and responded to Rick in a low voice: "This is Alan, Rick, where are you?"
"Zi...Alan! Are you safe? I'll tell Maggie you're fine. We've made it to Petersburg, Maggie and Glenn are behind us, they were...delayed a little."
Rick's electric voice appeared on the intercom.
Alan did not hide his position. The people from the Destiny Camp would definitely help each other when they came out.
"I'm in Petersburg too. I've teamed up with a group of survivors and we're resting at the Red House Motel."
"Got it. Can you join us tomorrow? ... Shit!! They are coming! This group of monsters... Sizzle..."
Rick's voice fades away.
Alan immediately got up from the bed. She carefully called Rick again and again, but received no response.
"Rick? Rick?! How are you guys? Do you need backup?!"
There was silence on the other end of the intercom, and Maggie didn't respond. Alan let out a breath, feeling a little restless.
She really wanted to help, but she didn't know the exact location of Rick and the others, and if she went out rashly, she might get herself into trouble.
boom! ! !
Suddenly, a loud explosion was heard from the west. The huge noise completely broke the silence of the night, and the zombies on the street screamed loudly.
"Hoo! Hoo!!"
“Roar! Roar!!”
Alan even heard the hoarse roars of the brutal zombies.
The situation is not good. Alan instinctively connects the explosion to Rick and others. They may have encountered trouble that requires heavy weapons to solve.
Alan no longer hesitated, she took out the [Ghost Mask] from the backpack on the ground and put it on her head. This magical mask allowed her to completely hide among the zombies, as long as she did not actively attack the zombies.
It was not used during the day simply because of bad timing; the car breakdown and the brutal zombie attack happened too quickly, and Alan had no time to rummage through the package in the back seat for it.
"Sizzle...something seems to have happened outside. We need to continue to remain quiet."
Abraham suddenly contacts Alan on the intercom, worried about the child's safety.
"I have to go out for a while. My teammates contacted me. They are in trouble." Alan replied.
"Shit, there are zombies everywhere outside. It's dangerous for you to go out. They can hold out until daytime..."
Abraham wanted to persuade Alan, but Alan had already taken out the night vision goggles from his bag. After an electronic sound, four green lights appeared in the night.
Alan pulled out the small sword from his bag, put on the MCX silenced rifle, and slowly opened the door.
After turning off the intercom, Alan walked towards the street full of zombies. The explosion just now attracted more zombies, and a large number of swaying figures moved in the night.
After finding the direction of the explosion, Alan walked towards the street without fear. A few skinny zombies with rotten faces looked at her, then turned their heads and continued walking.
Alan wrinkled her nose as the stench of corruption surged around her. In the green field of vision, all the zombies in tattered clothes had their backs to her, not paying any attention to the newcomer.
Alan pushed a zombie aside. He didn't want to waste time. The zombie that was pushed aside roared, turned around and sniffed towards Alan. He felt confused. The smell of this same kind was not right!
The concealment effect of the [Ghost Mask] was even more terrifying than the Whisperer's corpse skin, and it completely deceived the zombie's cognition. Although Alan's hair was washed with shampoo in the afternoon, the zombie still regarded her as one of its own.
Pushing aside one zombie after another, the zombies turned their heads to look at Alan, but eventually ignored her.
Alan walked calmly in the night. She was very familiar with this set. Except for mutant zombies, no monster could ignore the effect of the [Ghost Mask].
Ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta——!
boom! ! !
Suddenly, gunshots were heard from the neighboring street, and the familiar sound of MG338 continued to ring.
Alan breathed a sigh of relief, at least her teammates were still alive.
Looking around, Alan looked towards an alley. She couldn't approach her teammates' fire directly, as the MG338 would accidentally hit her. Now she could only go around to the side of the gunfire and find a chance to reunite with Rick and the others.
At the door of the bar on the next street, Rick and Sean stood in the middle of the store door. Sean held a machine gun and fired wildly at the zombies outside, while Rick lit a wine bottle and threw a Molotov cocktail outside from time to time.
There was already a car exploding on the street, and the back door of the bar was another street. There were also a lot of zombies, so they had no way to retreat.
"Maggie! Maggie! Where are you!? We need backup!!"
Rick shouted loudly while holding the walkie-talkie. There was no need to keep silent in the current situation.
At the door of the bar, a large area of corpses were blown up by machine gun fire, and the bodies fell to the ground in a pile.
Maggie and Glenn still haven't responded, and their whereabouts remain a mystery.
boom!
There was a noise in the bar, and the source of the sound seemed to be the back door. Rick felt his hair run down his body. He could only say to Sean: "Hold on for a while, there's something wrong at the back door."
"Fake!"
Sean gritted his teeth. He had almost used up all the bullets in a box. Behind the sea of fire on the street, a group of sturdy figures were still watching the battle, waiting for their chance to strike.
Sean knew what those things were. They were a new type of zombie with speed and strength beyond that of normal humans.
However, although the strength and speed of this new type of zombie are far superior to those of normal humans, they are not as abnormal as the mutated zombies. They do not have bulletproof skin and cannot withstand a medium-caliber bullet.
When Sean and Rick just arrived at the bar, Sean was knocked to the ground by a brutal zombie. Rick shot him in the head, and a 9mm bullet blew his head off.
There were even more brutal zombies in the bar, but after seeing their own kind die, they chose to wait and see, and no one knew what they were waiting for.
Ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta———!
Machine gun bullets passed through the sea of fire and burning corpses and hit a group of brutal zombies. Miserable roars were heard and the brutal zombies immediately fled in all directions.
"idiot!"
Sean spat, suspecting that these bastards were waiting for him to change the bullet box, so he fired all of his last few dozen bullets at the brutal zombies. Several figures were torn into pieces and disappeared into the night.
