Chapter 15: Glentown Middle School (1)
Chapter 15: Glentown Middle School (1)
The team arrived at a new town, where the number of zombies had increased again. The pickup truck was shaking a bit on the streets where zombies occasionally walked.
Zhang Qiang chose to get out of the car. He couldn't bear to see the zombies being run over by the pickup truck, their bodies stuck in the car chassis, or their limbs stuck in the wheels causing a malfunction.
Facing the zombies wandering around the street, Zhang Qiang asked Wu Yang, "Is your home far from here? What is the population of the town?"
"It normally only takes a few minutes to drive there. There are not many people in the town, only about two or three thousand," said Wu Yang.
Zhang Qiang took a look at the zombies wandering on the street. What he was most worried about was the situation where there were too many small zombies, so that the zombies would be very dense in some places.
If there were too many zombies, he would need a position to defend even if he took out a machine gun to fire. And now he didn't want to take out a machine gun and RPG out of thin air.
He can allow others to guess his secrets, but he will not allow his secrets to be exposed in front of others without reservation.
Zhang Qiang thought about using MCX and other rifles to kill these zombies. He was familiar with this kind of thing in Atlanta, but it was still risky in an unfamiliar place.
The town in front of him was called Gran Town, and he had never been there during his years of wandering.
This place is not far from Green Farm in the original series.
Wu Yang looked at the zombies in the distance with a look of horror on his face. Zhang Qiang knew that he could not rely on this local who was familiar with the road conditions to act together.
Now cars cannot avoid the road that runs through the town unless they take the wide highway.
Zhang Qiang looked at the town with confusion, and had some ambitions in his heart. If he could build a high wall here, he would have a foothold in this damn world.
Unfortunately, he doesn't have enough manpower.
Even in wealthy communities in the United States, there are rarely walls. Although open lawns are private property, they are at most protected by a low hedge.
Zhang Qiang didn't have much expectation for the safety of Wu Yang's community, but he asked about it anyway, and the answer turned out to be as expected, there was no walled place to live in.
Seeing Zhang Qiang frowning, Wu Yang lowered his head and thought for a while. He understood that Zhang Qiang wanted to find a safe place, but where could there be such a place in the town...
This is not the country on the other side of the ocean, where communities are often surrounded by walls.
"Yes, the facilities of the town middle school are good. There is a wall in front as a facade, and other places are protected by barbed wire walls between buildings."
Wu Yang said to Zhang Qiang.
Zhang Qiang's eyes lit up. If that was the case, he could just clean out the town's middle school. The risk of earning points would be much smaller than doing it directly on the street.
"Wuyang, please show me the way. Let's find a route with the least traffic to get to school.
Daryl, More, get ready for some action, I need a place for us to stay."
Zhang Qiang made a decision. The other people's guns together had probably a few hundred bullets. With heavy rifle firepower, they could lead the way in luring those clumsy zombies out of the school building and then clean them up by standing inside the wall. It wouldn't be a difficult task.
Adding the number of bullets he had, the points would be endless. Apart from cleaning up the zombies afterwards, Zhang Qiang couldn't think of anything difficult.
His only request was that Daryl and Maul shoot more accurately, and of course it would be best if the gunshots did not attract too many zombies outside the wall.
Thinking of this, he secretly exchanged the silencer suppressor corresponding to the rifle and some magazines from the panel.
The difficulty of Zhang Qiang shooting zombies at present is no different from that of some FPS players clearing monsters in PVE. The sports shooting skill package he possesses is of special level.
Talent skills are the most powerful and useful cheat codes on the panel.
"You are the boss, you have the final say. But, Zhang, I have a question. There are only a few of us, why do we have to occupy such a large place?"
Moore was riding a motorcycle, the engine turned off, and he stopped on the road to smoke a cigarette.
Seeing that a zombie nearby had noticed him, Moore was ruthless and said nothing. He took out the silenced pistol given to him by Zhang Qiang and shot the zombie in the head, killing it completely.
Wu Yang's body trembled. He felt as if he had fallen into a wolf's den. These people faced the monsters calmly and shot them at will. He hoped that he would not have any conflict with them.
"Good question, Mor. We are short-handed.
I find it difficult to gather people to travel with me on the road in the future.
Things are only going to get worse, and I'm going to have a hard time trusting people I meet in the future. It would be nice to have a safe place where I can check in with people on a daily basis."
Zhang Qiang's expression showed great interest.
With a cigarette between his hands, Moore said helplessly, "You are the boss, you have the final say."
He felt that some of Zhang Qiang's ideas were too cautious and ambitious, but at the same time, Zhang Qiang liked to take risks and greet these zombies. These two approaches were somewhat contradictory.
The two of them had experienced life and death together, but Moore felt that he could not see through Zhang Qiang at all.
Zhang Qiang asked An Zhui to take the travel bag out of the car, and first distributed the rifles to Moore and Daryl, letting them carry them, in case heavy firepower was needed later when the situation was not right.
"Suppressor, assemble before setting off."
Zhang Qiang threw two black muzzle devices to Daryl and Moore, and the two brothers took out several magazines from their travel bags and put them into their pockets.
"Qiang, what should we do? Are you really planning to occupy a school? There must be a lot of zombies in there!"
An Zhui was a little worried. He and his wife sat together in the pickup truck, wondering if he could hold on to the end after choosing the adventurous life with Zhang Qiang.
What if something happens and Zhang Qiang can’t take care of himself?
Zhang Qiang did not realize that although he had two followers, An Zhui and Kendall, these two were more like giant babies rather than reliable helpers.
This type of followers will become a headache for Zhang Qiang in the future.
"You and Jim take the pistols and help clear the zombies on the flanks of the team. Aim calmly and carefully, just like actual target practice.
Don't worry about not having enough bullets. I'll solve these problems later. Just practice shooting well."
Zhang Qiang's contemptuous attitude towards the man-eating monsters made Daryl frown slightly. He admitted that Zhang Qiang was very capable. But he believed that in this world, one could not survive to the end just by being capable.
This is also one of the reasons why Daryl has not yet become Zhang Qiang's follower. He always has doubts about Zhang Qiang's practices and attitudes.
Avoid these zombies, make as little noise as possible, and only start cleaning them up when there is no way to avoid them.
This is what Daryl thinks is the longest-lived rule of conduct. But his brother and Zhang Qiang are hanging out together, and his brother is also a little obsessed with shooting zombies. The two seem to treat this as a form of entertainment.
Zhang Qiang didn't know what Daryl was thinking. In his opinion, after being armed, of course they had to unite a large number of manpower, raise the banner of expelling the zombies, restoring sovereignty, re-occupy the territory, and resume production. This was what the Flower-Growing Family should do in their bones.
It just so happens that the black sect in the United States is immoral and has made the United States like this, so Zhang can naturally replace it. (It is needless to say who was the president of the United States at that time.)
"Uh, I kind of want to go home..."
Wu Yang was a little afraid of Zhang Qiang's plan, and he wanted to leave the team and run away first.
Zhang Qiang looked at him with disdain. Even though he knew that this was a normal person's thought, he still wanted to despise Wu Yang.
Without a gun, he was walking alone in a town full of zombies. Wu Yang thought he was Glenn. But then again, Wu Yang didn't know Glenn either...
"When you get to the town middle school, you can leave at will."
Zhang Qiang shrugged his shoulders and didn't care.
He was not in the mood to tie this compatriot into the team under the banner of doing good for Wu Yang. Adults should be responsible for every choice they make.
Life or death, Wuyang makes his own choice and fights for it.
But before that, Wu Yang had to show them the way.
"Okay, it's a deal."
Wuyang spoke his hometown dialect.
Zhang Qiang nodded indifferently again.
With three motorcycles leading the way, Wu Yang led everyone to bypass the main road in the town and take the small road to the town middle school.
Zhang Qiang put the muzzle of the gun on the car window and shot at the zombies he occasionally saw on the road. After the disaster, he never stopped practicing his survival skills.
Even though he had the panel to back him up, he still wanted to try whether his marksmanship would improve with his daily shooting experience.
chug……
The sound of gunfire from the one-piece silencer occasionally rang out dully on the path. The swaying zombies turned their heads. As soon as they noticed the sound of the vehicle, their heads exploded with blood, and their skulls were blown away by the 5.56 bullets...
Soon, the convoy of vehicles arrived at the gate of the town middle school.
The gate of the town's middle school was open, and two police cars and several ambulances were parked in the open space inside the school.
Zombies dressed in police uniforms and protective suits roamed around the school. Their faces were rotten and full of maggots. There were a lot of white body bags stained with blood on the ground, some of which were still twisting...
Zhang Qiang looked at the wall and iron gate in front of the school with satisfaction. At least they were enough to block a small group of zombies.
He was pleased with the town's secondary's defensive capabilities.
As for the zombies inside, to be honest, he has already started thinking about how to clean up the large number of corpses...
After all, people cannot live in a place where there are rotting corpses everywhere, as there will be a large number of bacteria that are harmful to the human body and may breed plague.
Forget it.
Zhang Qiang shook his head to get rid of the idea that would only be useful in the future. The most urgent task now was to get rid of these zombies.
There were some scattered zombies following behind the pickup truck.
Zhang Qiang got off the car first and pointed to the open gate of the campus and said:
"I'll go and suppress these bastards first, you guys drive the car in! Moore, Daryl! After the pickup truck comes in, close the school gate! Then follow me to clean up the zombies in front!
Others used pistols to clear the zombies outside the school through the iron gate!
Is there a problem? "
"No."
"It's time for a big fight!"
"Qiang, be careful!"
"Fuck! Zhang, it's weird that I chose to go with you, damn it, I'm going to fight!"
Everyone responded.
"Let's take action! Whether you will be wandering around and living in uncertainty in the future, or staying in one place, depends on this wave today."
Zhang Qiang walked towards the school gate holding a rifle. He was not in a hurry to attract the attention of the zombies. He first set the MCX to full automatic and shot at the brains of the zombies where the zombies were most concentrated.
The behavior patterns of zombies are very consistent with the herd effect. First, they blindly follow the leading zombies. Second, after gathering on a large scale, the degree of blind obedience will become more and more crazy, and the movement speed of these zombies will increase.
Zhang Qiang would not give them the chance to run towards him, and he opened fire and shot at the heads of a row of zombies.
A series of blood flowers exploded, and more than a dozen zombies fell to the ground in a twisted state, completely dead, with a large amount of smelly blood and brain matter scattered all over the ground.
The other zombies had not yet reacted. The dull sound of the silencer made it difficult for their already dull five senses to locate Zhang Qiang.
Zhang Qiang trotted towards the zombies and fired a few more rounds to empty the remaining bullets in the magazine. As another group of zombies fell to the ground wailing, the other zombies on campus finally noticed this brave human who was attacking them! !
