Chapter 211: Decision to Expand the Team
Chapter 211: Decision to Expand the Team
With the successful operation of their farms and fisheries, life in the valley gradually stabilized. Ye Wan and Xie Linchuan watched as this once challenging land was transformed into a vibrant home through the hard work of themselves and their team members. Every day, the crops in the fields flourished, the fish in the fisheries swam, and life seemed to be going smoothly. But in Ye Wan's heart, a secret thought lingered: perhaps their team needed more strength.
Limitations of the existing team
Although life in the valley has settled down for now, Ye Wan knows that over time, resource depletion and potential threats will bring new pressures. This is especially true when it comes to defense. While the team can currently withstand some basic threats, as living standards improve and the surrounding environment becomes increasingly complex, various potential dangers may arise at any time. The world outside the valley is not always peaceful, and increasing resource depletion and productivity shortfalls are gradually being exposed. Whether it's clearing land, planting, or harvesting, the team's workload is constantly increasing, and the burden on the members is growing.
"We still have too few people," Ye Wan thought quietly while inspecting the farmland. Although the current members have become skilled and efficient, they still seem unable to cope with the increased workload and challenges in the future. Furthermore, there are many wanderers and survivors outside the valley. While there may be some conflicts and distrust among them, if these forces can be properly utilized, perhaps they can make their homeland more stable.
A plan to absorb the homeless
Ye Wan pondered the matter silently, deciding to propose a plan for team expansion. This wasn't an easy decision, especially for a team that had already weathered numerous challenges. Accepting new members might carry some uncertainties and risks. After all, everyone on the team had experienced life and death, and trust and rapport were their most important assets. However, Ye Wan wasn't about to act rashly. Instead, she planned to gradually incorporate new members, making thorough preparations, to bolster the team's defenses and productivity.
"If we can unite more people, we will be able to cope with greater difficulties." She made the decision silently in her mind, while also thinking about how to convince the team members to accept this proposal.
After returning to camp, Ye Wan convened an emergency meeting. All team members gathered, and the atmosphere was somewhat tense. Ye Wan stood in the center of the meeting, her gaze sweeping across the faces of each team member. After a moment's silence, she spoke: "Everyone, our lives have gradually stabilized, but the challenges we face remain. We need more strength, especially in defense and productivity. To ensure our future, I suggest recruiting more Rangers into our team."
Xie Linchuan stood beside Ye Wan, his eyes gentle yet resolute. He also understood the importance of expanding the team. While the addition of new personnel might bring some uncertainty, he believed that Ye Wan's judgment was always accurate. "We need more labor, especially as the external environment becomes increasingly complex. By absorbing wanderers, we can strengthen our defense capabilities and improve production efficiency," Xie Linchuan added.
Members' concerns
As soon as Ye Wan finished speaking, the conference room fell silent. Every team member seemed to be considering the pros and cons of this proposal. While everyone understood that the team needed more people, some concerns remained about the addition of new members.
Xiaolin was the youngest member of the team. She frowned and couldn't help but ask, "But, Sister Ye, what if those wanderers aren't kind? How do we know if they're trustworthy?"
"That's right. We can't easily accept someone with unknown identities." Another team member, Lao Wu, also expressed his opinion. "We already have a stable life now. Adding a new member might bring unnecessary trouble."
Ye Wan knew everyone's concerns were justified. In this turbulent world, trust between people is inherently scarce, and any unfamiliar face could become a potential threat. Furthermore, the team already has close ties, and any external force could upset the existing balance. Yet, she remained firm, saying, "I understand everyone's concerns, but if we don't expand our own capabilities, the difficulties ahead will only become more severe. We can screen and test those we accept to ensure they are trustworthy."
Xie Linchuan also added: "We are not in a rush. Expanding the team can be a gradual process. We can start by accepting a few skilled wanderers and gradually observe and understand them. Moreover, we have sufficient capabilities to ensure the safety of the team."
Gradual acceptance
After some discussion, the team members' attitudes gradually changed. Although everyone initially held some reservations about the proposal, with Ye Wan's patient explanation and Xie Linchuan's support, they finally began to accept the suggestion.
"We will do our best to control risks and ensure that every person who joins can integrate into our team and bring more help," Ye Wan concluded. "Expanding the team doesn't mean blindly accepting everyone. Instead, we need to be more cautious and planned."
Xiao Lin listened to Ye Wan's words and nodded slightly, as if he had put aside his doubts. "Then where should we start?"
Ye Wan pondered for a moment and replied, "We'll start with the nearby homeless camps to understand their situation. If there are people in need, we can provide some support, but we'll also conduct screening and observation."
Xie Linchuan added: "We will also strengthen preventive measures to ensure everyone's safety is not threatened."
As the decision was made, the team's atmosphere gradually became relaxed and everyone began to relax. Although expanding the team might mean encountering new challenges, they believed that as long as everyone worked together, there would be no difficulties that could not be overcome.
Ye Wan and Xie Linchuan smiled at each other, their hearts filled with hope. The road ahead would still be difficult, but they had the confidence, determination, and strength to meet more challenges.
