Chapter 301 Project 3 (6)
Chapter 301 Project 3 (6)
Harry seemed to have cast some kind of spell, but it passed straight through the golden mist and had no effect on it.
Cedric didn't say anything, but watched Harry's actions quietly. Lamia guessed that he wanted to wait for Harry to explore the way. It had to be said that everyone had their own thoughts.
Harry was hesitating when suddenly a scream broke the silence.
That was Fleur's voice, Lamia was certain, and indeed this project was unsafe, Fleur had already emitted red sparks.
Harry looked around, then finally took a deep breath and rushed into the enchanted mist.
Cedric waited there for a while, and when he found that Harry did not come out of the fog, he also plunged in.
The world turned upside down, and Lamia fell out of Cedric's hat and stuck to the grass. There was a spell here, and no matter how she flapped her wings, she couldn't move at all.
Cedric was not in a much better situation. He was hanging upside down with his hair standing on end, and he could fall into the bottomless sky at any time.
His feet seemed glued to the grass, which was now the ceiling, and below Cedric and Lamia lay the endless black starry sky.
But there was no sign of Harry. Lamia looked around, then closed her eyes to avoid looking at the endless void below, and then pulled her feet up from the grass ceiling with all her strength.
At the same time, Cedric also managed to escape. He was sweating profusely and it seemed that he had put in a lot of effort.
The world instantly returned to normal, and Cedric fell to his knees on the solid ground.
After the shock just now, his whole body felt a little weak. He took a deep breath, calmed himself down, then got up and ran forward, looking back at the golden mist as he ran. It seemed to be shining at him innocently in the moonlight.
Harry was no longer here, and Lamia felt that he must have taken another route.
On the rest of the journey, Cedric and Lamia did not encounter any particularly difficult obstacles, at most a few mischievous divine creatures.
But the good times didn't last long. Cedric didn't know how he turned a corner, but he met the same blast-tailed skrewt again, but this time they appeared behind it.
It was enormous, ten feet long, and looked like a giant scorpion, with its long stinger curled up on its back and its thick carapace gleaming in the moonlight.
Cedric covered his mouth and tried to walk past the only path next to the blast-tailed skrewt, but as soon as he took a step, the blast-tailed skrewt threw fireballs frantically in front of him.
Only then did Lamia see that Harry was standing opposite them, holding a wand in his hand, and had obviously just cast a spell.
But his spell had no effect and was instead bounced back from the skrewt's hard shell.
"Hard to reach!" Harry yelled, and the spell bounced off the skrewt's armor again, sending Harry stumbling back and falling to the ground. "Hard to reach!"
The skrewt was less than a hundred meters away from Harry, and Lamia had already flown over.
But the skrewt stopped dead inches from Harry—he had struck it in the belly, where its armor hadn't protected it.
Harry scrambled to his feet, panting, and ran as fast as he could in the opposite direction. The Barrier Charm wouldn't last long, and the skrewt's legs might start moving at any moment.
Cedric seized the opportunity and passed it smoothly.
But after walking on the road for a few minutes, Cedric suddenly stopped and Lamia flew out. She saw Krum pointing his wand at Cedric and her face looked very strange.
"Krum, we are just competitors, there is no need to do this." Cedric raised his hands, wanting to comfort Krum first, but he didn't seem to give Cedric this chance.
"Heart-breaking and bone-cutting!"
Cedric fell to the ground, feeling nothing in his body except the pain of the fall.
"What are you doing?"
Cedric narrowed his eyes and saw Krum lying unconscious on the ground, his body covered with burn marks.
Lamia blew the remaining flame on her fingertips and flew into Cedric's hat with disdain.
The moment Krum launched his attack, Lamia knocked Cedric aside before him and counterattacked fiercely.
Lamia could see that there was something wrong with Krum. He was being controlled by someone and there was no awareness in his eyes. This look was very familiar to Lamia.
Cedric got up from the ground, looked at the unconscious Krum with lingering fear, and decisively changed direction and ran. After he ran for a while, Krum, who was lying on the ground, struggled to stand up.
Cedric noticed this very quickly and continued running nervously. Lamia was even more surprised than him. She knew very well how much effort she had put in. Krum couldn't possibly wake up, so there was only one possibility: he was being controlled by someone again.
Just then, Harry jumped out from nowhere and pointed his wand at Krum.
"Stupefy!" Harry shouted.
The curse struck Krum in the back, and he stopped dead in his tracks, lunging forward and lying facedown on the grass.
Cedric paused, panting and looking at Harry gratefully.
"Are you all right?" Harry asked hoarsely, grabbing Cedric's arm.
"It's okay," Cedric gasped. "It's okay... I can't believe it... He snuck up behind me... I heard it, turned around, and he had his wand pointed at me..."
Cedric stood up, still shaking, and they looked at Krum on the ground.
"I can't believe it... I thought he was quite nice," said Harry, staring at Krum.
"Me too," Cedric said.
"Did you hear Fleur scream?" Harry asked.
"Do you think Krum has done something to Fleur too?" said Cedric.
"I don't know," Harry said slowly.
"Leave him here?" Cedric asked quietly.
"No," said Harry. "I think we should send some red sparks to get him out... or he might get eaten by a skrewt."
"He deserves it," Cedric muttered, but he raised his wand and sent a stream of red sparks into the air. The sparks surrounded Krum, marking his location.
Harry and Cedric stood in the dark for a moment, looking around. Then Cedric said, "Um... I think we'd better keep going..."
"Huh?" said Harry. "Oh... yes... yes..."
Lamia looked at the two people who were wary of each other and felt that she had to give them a reminder. They didn't know that Krum had been controlled by someone. This project was not as simple as she thought. If it was not a deliberate setting, then there must be something wrong.
Lamia understood why the system asked her to save Cedric when Krum launched the attack.
