Chapter 258: Competition (5)
Chapter 258: Competition (5)
On Sunday morning, when Lamia woke up, she heard Harry calling her name outside the common room. This was terrible. Didn't he know that Lamia was a Slytherin after all?
Lamia quickly put on her clothes and hurried out, only to find Harry surrounded by several Slytherins, but there was no sign of fear on his face.
"Hey, Lamia, I'm coming to see you." Harry waved at Lamia and struggled to stick his head out from the blockade.
"What happened, Harry? I don't understand how you got stuck here." Lamia walked over. The two of them seemed to have no idea where they were and didn't take the malicious Slytherin students seriously.
"Well, it's nothing really. I think we'd better find somewhere else," Harry said to Lamia.
Although Lamia didn't quite understand what Harry meant, she followed him into the Great Hall and found Hermione at the Gryffindor table.
Hermione was having breakfast with Ginny. Harry couldn't eat anything, so he and Lamia were waiting on the side. As soon as Hermione swallowed the last spoonful of porridge, he hurriedly pulled her out to the yard, and at the same time, he didn't forget to wink at Lamia, asking her to comfort the surprised Ginny.
Lamia smiled helplessly. She really didn't know how to tell Ginny, so she finally changed the subject by finding something else. Lamia was very glad that Ginny still liked those things.
After Lamia was driven out, she saw Harry and Hermione walking along the lake. From Hermione's expression, Lamia knew very well that he had told Hermione about the dragon, and Hermione looked completely unbelievable.
"Lamia, I can't believe this competition is so dangerous!" Hermione covered her ears in disbelief and looked at Lamia who was walking towards her in panic.
"That's right, Hermione, but fortunately we knew it early enough for us to come up with a foolproof plan." Lamia walked between the two of them and came to the lake.
"We have to keep you alive. This is too dangerous!" she said anxiously. "I never thought a tournament would involve five dragons!"
"A dragon for each, I suppose it might not be so bad after all?" said Harry weakly.
"Harry! They are dragons!" Hermione shouted loudly, "I have to think of a solution before you start. This is bad. I have to go to the library now." Hermione hurriedly walked back and forth by the lake, and the next second she walked towards the library.
"Hermione, wait for us," Harry called after her, and quickly followed with Lamia.
The library was almost empty, and they easily found a seat for three. Here, Hermione pulled out every dragon-related book she could find, and the three of them began searching through the pile of books like looking for a needle in a haystack.
"Magic claw trimming and scaly ulcer treatments are useless. They're for freaks like Hagrid who want dragons to be strong."
"'Dragons are extremely difficult to kill because their thick hides are permeated with ancient magic that only the most powerful spells can penetrate', of course I know that!" Harry closed the book about dragons with great force.
"Let's try some simpler spell books," said Lamia, setting aside the closed book in Harry's hand.
Harry once again took up a large stack of spell books and began to flip through them one by one, as did Lamia, while Hermione kept muttering beside them.
"Oh, and there's the Conversion Charm, but what good is that? Unless you can turn its fangs into wine gums or something to make it less dangerous, the problem is, like the book says, not many things can penetrate dragon hide, or transform it?
But you're not going to be able to transfigure a giant like that, I doubt even Professor McGonagall can, unless you cast the spell on yourself? To increase your strength? But they're not simple spells either, I mean, we haven't learned them in class yet, I only learned about them when I was doing the practice questions for the OWL exams..."
Lamia had begun to have trouble understanding Hermione's words, or rather, she had begun to speak gibberish.
"Hermione," Harry said through gritted teeth, "please, could you be quiet for a moment? I need to concentrate."
Lamia said nothing, just looked at Hermione.
Hermione fell silent, but Harry still felt a hollow buzzing in his head, as if there was no room for him to concentrate.
He stared hopelessly at the index of the book in front of him: peel the hair quickly - but dragons have no hair, smell the pepper - that would probably only increase the dragon's firepower, and harden the tongue - that was exactly what he needed, just another weapon for the fire dragon.
At this moment, the light above was suddenly blocked by some tall object, and Lamia had to look up. She found that Viktor Krum walked in listlessly, stopped not far from their table, glanced at Lamia and Harry gloomily, and then sat down in a corner in the distance with a pile of books in his arms.
"Hermione, Lamia, let's go to another place. His fan club members will be here soon and you will be annoyed to death by then." Harry whispered. He knew very well how crazy Krum's fans were. After all, he had seen it with his own eyes a few days ago.
Sure enough, as they left the library, a group of girls tiptoed past them, one of them wearing a Bulgarian scarf around her waist.
It was Monday morning and Lamia still had to go to class. Last night she, Harry and Hermione had no idea what to do, so she didn't sleep well at all and felt dizzy in the morning.
After sitting on the bed for a while, Lamia packed up her things and walked towards the classroom. On the way, she was wondering if Hermione had gone to the library again. Judging from how worried Hermione was yesterday, Lamia thought it was very possible.
Just as Lamia was thinking about how to ask Hermione in the next class, she saw Harry's figure flash past her, accompanied by the sound of something breaking.
Lamia thought something had happened to Harry and rushed over, only to see another person, Cedric.
He was picking up something on the ground. Lamia looked over at him and found that his schoolbag had been cut by something, and the parchment and quills inside were scattered all over the ground, and several ink bottles were broken.
