Chapter 109 Ao Bing
Chapter 109 Ao Bing
Bai Jie and her group of beasts flew for several more days before finally reaching the middle of the route.
The desert was to their right, and they flew a long way along its edge.
Night comes.
They stopped in an open space, as usual.
After the beasts reached the ground, they all stretched their bodies and then looked at Bai Jie in unison.
There was no other way; wild animals were scarce in this desert area, so Bai Jie stored all the food and other necessities in his storage space. Since storing them in his space wouldn't tire him out, it didn't cause him any trouble.
After Bai Jie brought out the food for tonight, everyone started chatting.
"Ugh—it's so far! I'm exhausted from being in the clouds," Cotton Peach complained, lying on the ground with her eyes closed.
She's lost the initial drive she had; the journey feels incredibly long, and spending all day flying in the clouds is incredibly boring.
When Cotton Peach's father heard his daughter's complaint, he walked over to her and patted her head.
"Weren't you excited at first? Now you regret it?" Cotton Peach's father said with a smile.
Miantao opened her eyes, glanced at her father, and then snorted.
"No regrets! Just a little bored!" Cotton Peach retorted.
"When will Bai Jie arrive?" Mian Tao asked Bai Jie, who was chewing gold bars on the other side.
Bai Jie turned her head.
"Ah, there should still be half the journey left, almost there," he said, waving his paw.
Hearing that there was still such a long way to go, Mian Tao lay helplessly on the ground, sighing repeatedly.
Bai Jie smiled and shook her head, then walked over to the Four-Faced Beast.
"What's wrong with Jin Xian?" Si Bu Xiang looked at Jin Xian as if he had something to ask him.
"Hmm, I'm a little bored too. How about we go for a walk over there?" Bai Jie asked, pointing to the mountain not far away.
When Cotton Peach heard Bai Jie say she was going for a walk, she immediately stood up.
"What?! I want to go too!" Cotton Peach ran up to them and said.
"Okay~"
They gave instructions to the other animals and then went to wander around in the mountains.
. . .
In the mountains.
Cotton Boll walked ahead with light steps. She finally had a chance to go out for a stroll, so of course she wanted to get some exercise!
With Bai Jie by her side, as long as the opponent's strength wasn't too high, Bai Jie could handle them. Besides, the camp wasn't far away, so she had no worries.
Just then, the cotton boll twitched its nose, as if it had smelled some fragrance.
She turned around and said to Bai Jie, "Bai Jie, smell it! It smells so good."
Bai Jie was a little confused when she heard what Mian Tao said. "It smells very good?"
He sniffed the scent emanating from the air, and it indeed smelled quite nice.
And it smells like barbecue?
"I can definitely smell it, and it smells like barbecue," Bai Jie nodded and said.
"Are there any mud beasts around here?" the four-faced creature asked from the side.
"Maybe?" Bai Jie wasn't sure either.
"Baijie, let's go take a look!" Miantao said excitedly. Sure enough, going out for a stroll was the right thing to do; they found something fun right away.
The three beasts tiptoed toward the direction from which the smell was coming.
I quietly hid behind a clump of grass.
"Hiss~ Is this the mud-beast?" Cotton Peach said, looking at the man with two horns on his head and wearing blue clothes who was tending a fire not far away.
“Obviously not,” Bai Jie said, shaking her head.
Putting aside whether the clothes were in line with contemporary colors, Bai Jie could tell that the other party was not human just by the fact that it did not smell of mud and had those two horns.
"Who is that?" Mian Tao tilted her head, a little confused.
Bai Jie rolled her eyes. "You're asking me? Who should I ask? But if it has horns, it could be a Qilin, a kind of Bai Ze, or something else."
"Hey friends over there, you don't need to hide anymore, would you like to have something to eat?" the man in blue said.
Bai Jie gave Mian Tao and Si Bu Xiang a reassuring look. He had just sensed the opponent's strength and knew he could still defeat him.
They emerged from the bushes, and three beasts came into the man's view.
"Oh~ let me see, a Qilin, male, a white leopard, hmm... too small, and one...!" When the man in blue saw Bai Jie, his expression changed, and he used his magic to teleport in front of her.
"Beautiful lady, my name is Ao Bing. The moon is so bright tonight, would you do me the honor of spending this night with me?" Ao Bing said to Bai Jie with a lovesick look on his face.
"?" Bai Jie was dumbfounded. What the heck? And where did the moon come from today? The sky is full of clouds!
After a brief moment of stunned silence, the four-legged creature on the side was filled with anger.
"Sober Hoof!" The Four-Faced Beast kicked Ao Bing in the face.
Ao Bing touched his nose; it was bleeding!
"Hey, you ungrateful unicorn, don't be so ungrateful! I didn't even bother you just now, and you dare to kick me?!" Ao Bing is also a prince, so of course he has a temper.
"You harassed my partner, who else should I beat up but you!" the Four-Faced Beast said defiantly.
"Huh? Your partner?" Ao Bing glanced at the Four-Faced Beast, then at Bai Jie.
Then he said earnestly to Bai Jie, "Beautiful lady, look how violent this Qilin is, it's not good enough for you. Why don't you come back to the Dragon Palace with me and become my Empress Dowager?"
"?"
Bai Jie's face was almost completely filled with question marks.
"Wait, wait, wait, which eye of yours saw that I'm female?" Bai Jie asked, utterly bewildered.
"Huh?" Ao Bing was taken aback by Bai Jie's question.
Then I looked at Bai Jie again. Yes, she is definitely female.
“Beautiful lady, don’t joke around. I can smell that you are indeed female, and the kind that can have children!” Ao Bing said seriously.
"..."
Bai Jie was about to burst out laughing. It's not wrong to have children, but I'm really not female, I'm genderless!
"So please do me the honor of joining us tonight, we can be in the clouds, in the river, on the ground..."
"A Wake-Up Hoof!"
Before Ao Bing could finish speaking, Si Bu Xiang kicked him in the face again.
. . .
After a series of arguments, Ao Bing finally calmed down.
"Ah, let me introduce myself again. I am Ao Bing, the third prince of the East Sea Dragon King. I just returned from the south and am on my way back to the Dragon Palace," Ao Bing said.
Bai Jie nodded, realizing that Ao Bing was heading back to the West Sea and happened to be resting here when Bai Jie and the others discovered him.
As for why he took on human form, he said it would be more convenient to cook food that way.
That ball of fire? He's Ao Bing, of course he can breathe fire.
"So, Bai Jie, do you want to come back to the Dragon Palace with me?" Ao Bing remained undeterred.
"No," Bai Jie said, rolling her eyes.
The Four-Faced Beasts kept a close eye on Ao Bing, fearing that the guy might suddenly do something.
Cotton Peach was also staring intently at Ao Bing, her little claws taut, ready to strike at any moment!
