Chapter 368: I am here
Chapter 368: I am here
Tong seems suddenly embarrassed to be in the spotlight as he scratched his head. "Like I said I can’t let you do anything like that, and my Master is terribly displeased at the moment."
Eirikr looked as he he wanted to unleash a devastating technique on Tong at the moment and at the same time his eyes lit up as he connected who Tong’s Master was. He sat up. "Your Master? Where is he?"
Tong finally stopped holding the dagger and pointed, straight at the still camouflaged Vale.
All the attention turned to him.
Vale stood up and despite the anger burning in him at the expected betrayal, he composed himself as he faced. "You want to kill my Master Knights, Eirikr? Who gave you such authority?"
Different emotions and expression appeared on the different factions in the room. The Matsumoto appeared mildly annoyed while the Ito and Akatsuki seems greatly pleased.
But Eirikr wasn’t that pleased as his eyes focused on him, making the connection with the Matsumoto!
Vale’s eyes shone and the red burned through, his red eyes piercing through at Eirikr. "You fool. The Matsumoto already belong to the Athrimir, they are here under my command to take your head!"
The Matsumoto now appeared greatly shocked. Their eyes widening as he realized what Vale was doing. He’s pitting the two forces against each other.
Vale smiled, quickly moving away from his place to the middle of the room, using that to create distance between the now opposing forces.
The room was now cold with tension and every single Master Knights in attendance were watching each other wearily.
Vale smiled. His plan was working.
Kaelthorn’s face darkened with fury as he stood. "My Lord Eirikr we truly do not know...."
"Enough! You brought him here without informing me, even disguising him. How long have you bastard in Matsumoto been planning this?"
Kaelthorn paused. "Would you believe me if I tell you that he’s a gift we’re meaning to surprise you with?"
"No." Eirikr said flatly, his throne slowly levitating, it’s imposing aura spreading like a ripple.
Kaelthorn didn’t seem to care about the answer as he shrugged and gave an amused smile. He turned to look at Vale and then at Eirikr. "Vale Athrimir, do you really think you can escape the fate we have prepared for you?"
"Alright then, it’s decided we’ll kill Eirikr and the Ito representatives. Ending everything here while we place you on that throne to help hold things together for a while. Before we kill you too."
Vale wasn’t particularly angry with that. His eyes were shining brighter, the red filling then up, blazing like a star. The cuff on his right hand has reddened like molten metal, heat and smoke rising from it. "Let’s our strength speak for us, Kaelthorn."
Eirikr seems to have had enough, his face ugly with anger. His drake stirred away by its master’s anger, opened its mouth and spat out a wave of black fire!
Things happened really quickly then.
And time seems to slow.
With a loud popping sound, the cuff around Vale’s hand shattered and he threw himself forward, constructing a shield around those who are kneeling.
The Master Knights of Akatsuki and the Matsumoto flew at each other, the air heavy with magic. Instantly a formation that’s worked into the ground of the room flared to life but it shattered the next instant due to the powers that were increased at the same time.
Vale ignored everything as he got to the shield, his relief apparent.
"Vale...."
Isolde began but a punch cloaked in red and black fire caught her in the middle of her face with such force that the nose broke and her head seem to twist as she was catapulted away. His eyes narrowed as he realized that she didn’t die. "I’ll deal with you later."
He entered the shield and his people looked at him as if they’re seeing a ghost. His eyes flickered over them but he stopped at Slya and Tiber. They trembled as they saw him, their faces showing relief, joy and a mixture of guilt.
Vale smiled a little. "You should have a little faith in me."
They flinched but Vale already turned to Tong who was kneeling. "Welcome back Lord of the Eternal Pyre. I await your command."
Vale’s eyes narrowed, his mouth opened and his voice changed turning more rough and yet dignified. Demonlord’s Command!
"Tong. Free everyone from that cuff and get them out of this throne room. You’ll stay with them, and anyone is only allowed to join the battle if they have the confidence of returning alive. I give you the authority to use any power to accomplish this."
"As the Lord wishes!" When Tong stood his aura had changed, turning more potent and terrible. His eyes shone with a pale light and different enchantments symbols floated in it.
Vale turned to the rest of his men. He bowed once. "I apologize for coming late. I am here now."
Then he clapped his hand, excluding himself from the shield and then threw it up, forcefully shutting the wall and throwing them out. The sound of battle outside reached in.
Off to the side the Ito Clan are also engaging both the Matsumoto and the Akatsuki. The Ito Clan focused on defense and seems as if they just want to leave.
In all the chaos, it seems everyone has forgotten about Vale Athrimir, the Errant Knight. But he could still feel Isolde’s eyes on him even though she’s not in the room.
"Well, that’s just offensive."
Vale turned, and his eyes locked on the woman fighting the WaterLord. The woman held a white bone sword that scream each time she used it, moving hurricane in the air.
Vale’s aura swelled in an instant. He released everything and it exploded out of him like the tyranny of the sea. Everyone in the room froze and no matter who they are they shivered. There’s something old and terrible, something otherworldly in the aura that just spread.
Head turned and eyes of countless Master Knights locked on him. Vale smiled as he stood three, red and black fire crawling around his body, coiling in the shape of serpent. His hair was now seem like pure hellfire, dancing behind him like the darkness from the Underworld.
He said to the woman. "I will kill you first Morvane."
He exploded forward, leaving a smoking crater behind and a straight line furrow toward her.
Morvane’s gentle expression has given way to pure astonishment as she felt an aura that made her shook come toward her. Her body began moving before her head caught up. She brought her sword up, no daring to hold back anything as she imbued her sword with all her years of technique.
The air all around the room gained edge, things weaker than Errant Knight rank’s strength were cut down. Everything mundane were shredded and she hadn’t even bring the sword down, merely holding it up.
Then she brought it down. And a sword arc the size if three humans leap forth.
Directly where Vale was coming from.
The space in the room froze, seems to blink and then screamed as air was shredded and moved roughly. Everyone in the room was affected and even Master Knights, and the most powerful of them felt as if they had been cut! The flow of the battle was cut in an instant and everyone pause for a moment.
Only Vale didn’t. As the only one directly beneath the sword he felt as if his inside had been cut off even before the technique land. If he was a lesser person then that alone would be enough to kill him.
But Vale was undisturbed. He raised his hand, formation blooming in his mind. He moved a great amount of power from his core to that formation, using more power than he has ever used since he gained his new powers.
"Hellfire Moon!"
A moon bloomed in front of the speeding Vale, made of baleful hellfire and red light, casting the room in a gloomy, red heat.
The Hellfire Moon technique did not have the same aura pressure as Morvane’s sword technique and relief was already showing on her face while others scoffed, think Vale is all bark and all bite, because really, were do an Errant Knight want to see such powers!
But then the two techniques collided. The sword arc cut into the moon and was stopped inches through, although cracks do appeared on the moon.
But it continues on, ignoring and destroying the sword arc.
Morvane could only watch on in shock as theHellfire Moon reached her and smashed into her enveloping her in red and black fire that burned a hole through the ground, spreading to the empty surrounding as everyone else had run.
And just like that, Company Captain Morvane was dead. Burned to ashes by the son of the Clan she betrayed.
