Chapter 56 Werewolf Killing
Chapter 56 Werewolf Killing
After Xu Jun and Yu Fei had their heart-to-heart talk that day, Yu Fei let go of her resentment, and the two teams got along much better.
That day, under Xu Junyi's supervision, he led several elementary school students, including Lin Biao, to complete their assigned winter vacation homework, as well as the extra pre-study tasks that Xu Junyi had given them.
Lin Tiantian and several other preschool children were also quietly copying calligraphy models under Yufei's supervision.
Of course, Yufei is just supervising. With handwriting that beautiful, does she really need to copy calligraphy models? Just kidding.
What is Yufei doing? She's making cards for them to play with that afternoon.
They finished their daily study tasks in the morning, and Yufei cooked lunch for them. Fortunately, Yufei had already learned several dishes from Aunt Xia Chan.
Otherwise, I wouldn't have dared to host them. Yufei and her friends were having a party at her house, while Yufei's parents were out playing cards and socializing with their colleagues.
After finishing their meal, they washed their own dishes, went to the vineyard, and sat down at the game table without hesitation.
Eleven pairs of bright eyes looked at Yufei, waiting for her to suggest what to do today.
These past few days, Yufei has been suggesting what games to play, and those games are indeed very fun. Today, they're looking forward to a new game.
Yufei placed the card she had spent the whole morning making between them.
"The game we played today was called Werewolf."
Yufei prepared a standard deck of 12 Seer/Witch/Hunter cards, and of course, she also made Guardian cards.
But fearing they wouldn't understand, we started with the simplest one.
Yufei was explaining the rules.
The judge's card inside is for the person who presides over the game.
But since they didn't know how to play, Yufei volunteered to be the judge, and they should be able to play after a few rounds.
One Seer card is used to reveal one person's identity each night.
One Witch card contains a bottle of poison and a bottle of medicine. The medicine cannot heal herself but can heal others.
The "idiot" card will reveal its hand during the day if it is voted out, and it cannot vote out anyone during the day, but it is still considered a living person present. It will only be eliminated if the werewolf kills it at night or it is voted out again during the day.
If a hunter is thrown out or stabbed at night, they can take one person with them with them when they are eliminated.
The Seer/Witch Hunter belongs to the Cleric faction.
There are 4 villagers and 4 werewolves. The werewolves can kill one person each day. If 4 villagers or 4 other villagers are voted out, the werewolf team wins. If 4 werewolves are voted out, the good team wins.
This is a game of deception and logic. Everyone must protect their own cards and not reveal them to others. Then, they must deduce the cards of others through their speeches. Werewolves need to gain the trust of the good guys, while good guys need to stay clear-headed and find the werewolves.
"This... is a bit like cops and killers, but like an upgraded version of this."
Xu Jun felt that this game was somewhat familiar.
That's right. In her past life, when Yufei first encountered Werewolf, her first reaction was that it resembled the cops and killer games she played as a child, so she quickly got into it.
But there aren't that many tricks involved; we'll let them see how naive they really are.
So Yufei led them through a few rounds as the judge. Since Yufei had never played face-to-face murder mystery game before, she didn't have a strong impression of the hand gestures from her previous life.
But what does it matter? In this life, they were probably among the first to play Werewolf.
They could invent code words and gestures, so they played around with it for a bit, then stopped to discuss and investigate. They figured out the antidote, how to save lives, how to poison people—all of these involved language and gestures.
Once everyone was familiar with the rules, Yufei stopped being the designated judge and instead participated in drawing cards together, playing whichever role she was assigned.
In the first game, Yufei got the Witch card, and she saved someone on the first night.
During the daytime speech, I noticed Zhao Jing's eyes were darting around, and she seemed shifty and sneaky.
Yufei knew she was most likely the werewolf; the girl's acting wasn't good enough, she needed more practice. That evening, she gave her a bottle of cola, and the werewolf ultimately failed.
"This werewolf card game is really hard to play, I've almost never won!"
Zhao Jing was also unlucky, getting several games as the werewolf. Except for one game where Xu Jun and his team werewolves joined and survived to the end to win, the werewolf team didn't win a single game.
That's why Zhao Jing felt it was too difficult to catch the wolf.
After shuffling the cards and drawing again, Zhao Jing prayed to heaven that she would get the "good person" card, saying that she only wanted to be a good person!
After drawing her cards, Zhao Jing glanced at them and couldn't help but smile.
Yufei already knew Zhao Jing's trump card, but unfortunately, this time the two of them weren't on the same side.
Even if you know she's playing the good guy card, it's useless, because she's a wolf!
She finally got the werewolf card! Watching her play, the mortals trembled.
She jumped into the Seer role during the day and sent a "kill" message to a good person. Suddenly, two Seers appeared during the day, completely stunning the good people.
How can there be two prophets? They both looked at the judge at the same time. The cards are correct, right?
After confirming that they were on the right track, they were completely bewildered and led by the nose by Yufei. In the end, under Yufei's instigation, the werewolves won.
During the debriefing, they learned a new term: "welding jump wolf".
This also provided a new strategy for the werewolf team. In the second game, Yufei again played as a werewolf, and surprisingly, Xu Jun was her teammate as one of the werewolves.
Yufei let Xu Jun jump, but luckily, the werewolf's kill was dealt to the witch, which already sealed the werewolf's fate at a great disadvantage.
Yufei immediately jumped to the role of the witch, analyzed the situation, and pushed the real witch out. That night, she killed the real seer. Yufei successfully identified the other two gods, and the werewolves won.
Their teamwork was quite successful.
They also learned that the Wolves needed to cooperate with each other.
After playing the Witch for one round, Yufei played the Werewolf for several rounds in a row, demonstrating a tutorial version of the Werewolf gameplay.
They were given access to many different ways to play Werewolf, including Suicide Werewolf, Weapon-Switch Werewolf, Charge Werewolf, Backstabbing Werewolf, Werewolf Detecting Werewolf, and so on.
The final result is that whoever gets the Seer card will first check Yufei, and since Yufei is a good person, all the good people are highly skeptical of her.
In later rounds, to maintain the fun of the game, it was stipulated that players couldn't be the first to check or attack Yufei; they had to guess what card she had, thus preventing the bad habit from developing.
On the first day they played Werewolf, they played until 7 or 8 o'clock before their families came to urge them to go home.
For the next few days, she spent all her playtime playing this game. Her friends improved incredibly quickly, teaming up, devising strategies, and even developing new ways to play.
Yufei sometimes couldn't keep up, and what she didn't expect was that the Werewolf game had even spread among the adults.
The reason was that several parents who were picking up their children listened in while they waited for the kids to play Werewolf. They found the game interesting, saying it helped them develop their eloquence, logical thinking, and strategic skills.
Sometimes these adults would kick their own children aside at night and take their place to play.
For example, Lin Tiantian's father, her cousin's father, etc., Lin Tiantian, as their representative, accused them of being shameless!
Later, the parents set up a table next to them and asked Yufei to prepare a deck of cards for Werewolf, and they started playing.
Old ginger is spicier; sometimes, some people at the kids' table can't hide their expressions and get caught.
The adults at the table all seemed cunning and calculating, their expressions even deceiving, especially Lin Tiantian's father and aunt's husband. Yufei remarked that, as expected, officials are all cunning.
Their skillful acting not only completely fooled the children who were already out of the game and watching from the adults' table, but also left the adults playing with them completely bewildered.
Xu Junyi said: I really want to go play at the adult table, that's my battlefield!
