Chapter 367 Blue Sky Base
Chapter 367 Blue Sky Base
Su Li continued to flip through the pages, but the subsequent content wasn't of much value; it was nothing more than the advancements in various technologies and the impact of war.
"Laser weapons...maybe Sophia can get a laser magic gun."
Zuli closed the book and put the useful books into her inventory.
Then, he went downstairs to meet up with his companions.
"Let's first determine our next destination."
Su Li took out a map and placed it on the ground. "We're here. Our final destination is Tianmu Meteorite Lake over in the city to see the dazzling crystal. The information makes it sound a bit mysterious, and I'm very interested."
"Then let's design a route."
Su Li pointed to the map, "Library, keep going south, you'll reach Tiansheng Square, the Blue Sky base is in this square."
We're at Blue Sky Outpost now, let's see if we can find any Radiant Crystals. Based on my intuition as a gamer, these Radiant Crystals are most likely key quest items. The sooner we get them, the sooner we can start researching them.
That area is a development zone with many construction companies, building material suppliers, and renovation companies. We'll mainly go to the timber market and steel market to see if we can find some materials and crystal stone.
Just like finding caves or other places in a wasteland to find mineral materials, you can find the relevant materials set by the system in a city map by looking for lumber markets or steel markets.
What? It's unreasonable that there are large quantities of titanium and platinum ingots in the construction steel market?
This is a game, I don't care about this or that!
"After we finish collecting the materials here, we'll stop by the construction vehicle market and a few car dealerships to the east. We'll find some usable vehicles and load them into our vehicle's cargo bed."
"After collecting the carriages, we headed directly to Tianmu Meteorite Lake in the south of the city."
"What are your thoughts?" Su Li asked her teammates.
Apart from Sun Keke, everyone else shook their heads.
Sun Keke stared at the map for a while, then began to chant the incantation.
Su Li, who knew Sun Keke well, knew that Sun Keke was performing divination.
After waiting for a while, Sun Keke opened her eyes. "Brother-in-law, fate has shown that in the last two days, the university town in the west of the city will become a vortex of destiny."
"University Town?" Su Li searched on the map for a while and located a cluster of buildings. This cluster of buildings was located in the southwest of the city, near another scenic area in the city, Jiuhu Mountain Scenic Area.
“XX School of Public Health, XX Technical College, XX University of Science and Technology, and Tianmu Medical University.” Su Li pointed to the names of these universities. “…Biochemistry-related fields, generally speaking, any secrets are more likely to be linked to medical universities. We’ll see how things go later and go check out the medical universities.”
After deciding on their next route, Su Li and his group gathered up the various documents they had collected, then boarded the SUV and returned to their train.
Following the route on the map, the train made a turn and headed towards the Blue Sky Base.
The diameter of a medium-sized city is only about 20 kilometers. Zurich and his group were traveling at speeds of over 100 kilometers per hour, so they were able to cruise around the city very quickly.
That afternoon, Su Li and his team arrived at the Blue Sky Base.
Before they even got close to the Blue Sky Base, Su Li and the others were already gaping in astonishment.
"My God, is this illegal building the Blue Sky Base?" Su Li looked up at the huge building standing above the clouds in the distance and felt it was too absurd.
“This must be the Tower of Babel,” Sun Lili exclaimed. “It’s so impressive. Amidst the chaos, there’s a breathtaking sense of order.”
Su Li felt like she was watching player creations in a game that ignored the rules of physics; all the player had to do was collect materials and build structures on top of them.
The Tower of Babel is shaped like a giant building block made up of countless stacked blocks, layer upon layer, in a staggered and orderly manner.
Each floor is filled with densely packed buildings, some resembling converted shipping containers, simple dwellings constructed entirely of steel without concrete. These buildings are connected by narrow staircases, corridors, and suspended bridges, forming an intricate three-dimensional maze.
The entire building occupies an area of approximately 6 square meters and stands in the center of six office buildings. Countless steel cables connect to the surrounding office buildings, resembling a giant spider's nest.
The building's exterior walls are covered with rusty metal plates and exposed steel bars, as if they might fall off at any moment. In some places, there are even traces of makeshift repairs with plastic sheeting and wooden boards, making it look dilapidated. However, it is precisely this chaotic appearance that reveals a tenacious vitality, as if the building complex was forcibly squeezed out of the ruins.
This huge illegal building must be at least 200 meters tall.
"The material properties are incredible," Ivan exclaimed, gazing up at the building. "Only a world with magical powers could achieve this. On our Earth, with these material properties, we could probably build a space elevator."
Who would have thought that such high-performance steel requires only one natural mineral and smelted steel combined together?
As Su Li and his group drove the train slowly closer to the Blue Sky Base, they held their breath as they looked up at the seemingly collapsing building. The metal exterior was covered in rusted metal plates and exposed steel bars, giving it an appearance that was both dilapidated and powerful.
"It has a post-apocalyptic wasteland style, which is quite interesting," Su Li said with a smile.
"This place is truly... magnificent," Sofia exclaimed, gazing up at the Blue Sky Base.
“It’s spectacular, but it doesn’t look safe.” Song Mingyu frowned. “These buildings look shaky and could collapse at any moment. The buildings are always shaking, so I can’t do experiments here. I don’t like it here.”
"Don't worry, we have trains, we can run away anytime." Su Li smiled and patted Song Mingyu on the shoulder.
The train, with its guns facing away from the base, slowly came to a stop on the tracks of the Blue Sky Base. Several guards stood guard beside the tracks, armed and watching Su Li and his group warily. It seemed they had spotted them long ago, but because Su Li's train had its guns facing away from the base, expressing goodwill, the guards did not react aggressively.
Su Li got out of the car, walked forward, and said with a smile, "We are explorers passing by and would like to resupply some supplies here."
The guards exchanged glances, and one of them stepped forward and said coldly, "Entry into the base requires payment of supplies, or exchange for something of equal value."
Su Li nodded and took out some food and water from his inventory. For him, ordinary water and supplies were worthless.
The supplies were handed to the guard. The guard took the supplies, opened them, and saw some fresh meat. His eyes lit up with excitement.
He nodded, indicating that they could go in.
"Is that all?" Ivan asked in the mental link.
Of course, the fact that we pay the entry fee to the base shows that, at least on the surface, we don't want to cause trouble. These bases probably have a lot of transient residents; they're used to it all.
