"Ruowei, I'm so bored!"
The woman hugged Su Ruowei from behind and started to act coquettishly.
"Xinyan, I'm at work. Can we talk about it after I get off work?" Su Ruowei said with a helpless smile.
Lin Fan looked at the woman who had suddenly barged in and began to recall her identity in his mind:
Gu Xinyan is Su Ruowei's best friend and classmate from school. The two are very close. She is also a young lady from a wealthy family in Shancheng City. She is the only daughter of the Gu family and has been pampered by her family since childhood.
"Stop working and come shopping with me, I'm so bored I'm going to grow moss!" Gu Xinyan snuggled into Su Ruowei's arms, rubbing her head against Su Ruowei's soft skin.
Lin Fan's eyes lit up; he was incredibly envious.
"No, I have to go to work. I've been quite busy with work lately," Su Ruowei said softly.
"Then, then I'll be your customer and buy your stuff! You can accompany your customers shopping, right?" Gu Xinyan said, staring at Su Ruowei with wide, expectant eyes.
"Let me think about it." Su Ruowei pretended to ponder, then smiled and said, "Alright, let's go, Boss Gu."
"That's great!" Gu Xinyan continued to rub against Su Ruowei, unable to contain her excitement.
Su Ruowei had no intention of having Gu Xinyan as her client; this was just an excuse to go shopping, as she also wanted to relax and had been too tired lately.
Su Ruowei tidied herself up quickly and then went downstairs with Gu Xinyan.
"I drove here." Gu Xinyan smiled and gestured for Su Ruowei to go to the parking lot with her, but as soon as she turned around, she saw Su Ruowei and Lin Fan standing together, and her face immediately fell.
"What's wrong, Xinyan?" Su Ruowei asked, puzzled.
Gu Xinyan pulled Su Ruowei aside and whispered, "Why is your husband here? Why did we girls bring him along when we went shopping?"
Gu Xinyan has never liked Lin Fan, not because Lin Fan is a live-in son-in-law, nor because she cares whether Lin Fan is useless or not. What makes her angry is Su Ruowei's marriage. She would be unhappy no matter who she marries.
They were roommates in college and swore to stay single together! Unexpectedly, Su Ruowei got married right after graduation.
“Some things have happened recently, and he will stay with me,” Su Ruowei said.
"You, you've changed from Ruowei! Men are all such jerks!" Gu Xinyan frowned, then whispered, "You didn't do anything with him, did you?"
Su Ruowei blushed instantly and quickly retorted, "No, no, nothing happened."
"Hmph, fine then. I'm telling you, no man is any good!" Gu Xinyan rolled her eyes, a tear glistening in her eye.
"Okay." Su Ruowei sighed. She knew that Gu Xinyan had been hurt in a previous relationship. Although they hadn't gone all the way, it had left a deep scar on Gu Xinyan's heart.
"You decide for yourself. As your best friend, this is all the advice I can give you!" Gu Xinyan said, glancing at Lin Fan.
Although Gu Xinyan hadn't paid attention to Lin Fan, she had heard many rumors about him. He was a good-for-nothing son-in-law who married into the Su family. After the family went bankrupt, he didn't even look for a job and just lived a life of idleness.
But now that she saw him, Lin Fan was nothing like a good-for-nothing; he was even kind of handsome. Although Gu Xinyan didn't trust men, she still liked to take a few more glances at handsome guys.
"Xinyan, shall we go?" Su Ruowei asked.
"Let's go, let your husband drive." Gu Xinyan pouted and tossed the car keys to Lin Fan.
Lin Fan shook his head helplessly and took the keys. Gu Xinyan was Su Ruowei's best friend, so he couldn't say anything and could only do as she said.
Lin Fan drove Gu Xinyan's Jaguar, carrying the two of them, towards the department store.
Lin Fan was exhausted after shopping all afternoon, but Su Ruowei and Gu Xinyan were still full of energy.
Lin Fan looked at the things he was carrying, most of which were bought by Gu Xinyan, and almost none of them were Su Ruowei's. He felt a strange feeling in his heart.
While Su Ruowei and Gu Xinyan were shopping, Lin Fan secretly bought that evening dress. When he returned, neither of them knew that Lin Fan had left.
"I'm tired from shopping," Gu Xinyan said, sipping her milk tea, before plopping down in a chair.
"I'm almost there too." Su Ruowei sat down and sighed.
"You two haven't stopped since 10 a.m. until now at 4 p.m.," Lin Fan said helplessly, looking at the pile of things he was carrying.
"Why are you complaining now?" Su Ruowei pouted.
"No, no complaints." Lin Fan smiled and continued, "Want to continue shopping?"
"Let's take a break first," Su Ruowei said.
"Okay, then I'll go buy you a milk tea." Lin Fan said, putting down what he was holding and hurrying towards the milk tea shop.
Su Ruowei's heart skipped a beat. She hadn't expected Lin Fan to be so observant. Gu Xinyan had been eating, drinking, and shopping the whole way, while she herself had been hungry and had only bought a few cheap items.
Will Lin Fan look down on me?
"Are you two so close?" Gu Xinyan glanced at Su Ruowei.
"Yes, really?" Su Ruowei's face flushed again as she continued to ask, "Why do you say that?"
"I could tell from your conversation that Lin Fan listens to you a lot." Gu Xinyan frowned. "It would be even better if his family hadn't gone bankrupt."
Su Ruowei lowered her head, biting her lip and remaining silent.
"I'm back." Lin Fan handed Su Ruowei a cup of milk tea and a few snacks.
“I remembered you liked these, so I bought them all.”
Su Ruowei took the items, took a small sip of milk tea, and said, "Thank you."
Just as Lin Fan was about to speak, Gu Xinyan quickly interrupted him, saying, "Let's watch a movie!"
"Okay." Su Ruowei readily agreed, and then she and Gu Xinyan started choosing movies together, finally deciding to watch a romantic drama.
While choosing movies, Gu Xinyan would occasionally give Lin Fan a disdainful look, as if to say she couldn't stand the dog food anymore.
In the movie theater, Su Ruowei and Gu Xinyan were crying their eyes out, wiping away tears from time to time. Lin Fan looked at the movie with a blank expression, unable to even distinguish the relationships between the characters.
Why did he love her, she love him, and then he fell in love with her again?
"What the hell, trash!" the middle-aged man in front of the three shouted angrily, and the female companion sitting next to him trembled in fright.
At the same time, everyone in the movie theater turned their attention to the man.
"What are you looking at me for? Do you think I have a movie playing on my face?!" the man cursed as he stood up.
Everyone shook their heads helplessly and continued watching the movie, but Lin Fan, Su Ruowei, and Gu Xinyan, who were behind the man, suffered because their view was completely blocked by the man's large body.
"Please sit down, you're blocking our view of the movie," Gu Xinyan said softly.
"Will blocking this trash bother you?" The man turned around and cursed again, "I'll block it today so you won't see this garbage. You don't need to thank me!"
Lin Fan was amused and exasperated. Although the man's language was crude, he somehow found himself agreeing with him.
