Chapter 1 Resurrection from the Dead
Chapter 1 Resurrection from the Dead
"Shen Xu, will you choose me or Shang Xueyi?"
Amidst the carnage of the battlefield, a tall, slender, and graceful figure held a sword to Shen Xu's neck and spoke coldly.
"Xiao Yi, why are you forcing me? I don't want to hurt any of you." Feeling the chill on his neck, Shen Xu said helplessly.
"Even at a time like this, are you still thinking of running away?" A cold glint flashed in Li Xiaoyi's eyes.
"It's not about running away, it's about saving myself! It seems I'm not going to live past today no matter what, so I'll die by your hand this time!" Shen Xu sighed softly and closed his eyes.
"Then go die!" Li Xiaoyi completely extinguished any feelings in his heart. The bone-chilling coldness continuously invaded Shen Xu's soul through the long sword pressed against his neck, quickly bringing his thoughts to a complete standstill.
Just then, a streak of crimson light knocked the longsword from Li Xiaoyi's hand, and a stunningly beautiful woman in a blood-red dress appeared in front of Shen Xu, supporting his body as he was about to fall.
“My dear sister, if you don’t want him, you can give him to your older sister! Your older sister doesn’t mind that he’s fickle.” Shang Xueyi gently stroked Shen Xu’s cold face.
"Wasn't my meeting with Shen Xu arranged by my sister? Now that things have come to this, why are you still pretending?" Li Xiaoyi said emotionlessly.
After gently putting Shen Xu down, Shang Xueyi said with a light laugh, "I'm doing this for my sister's own good. She should be thanking me for being able to reach the state of detachment from worldly desires."
"Is that so?" Li Xiaoyi swung his sword, a very casual strike, without any Yuan Qi attached to it, and even the movement was as slow as a child swinging a sword.
But even such an ordinary sword strike sent a strong shiver down Shang Xueyi's spine. She instinctively tried to dodge, but found that the sword was clinging to her like a leech, making it impossible for her to avoid. She could only watch helplessly as the sword passed by her.
"Beside you!!" Shang Xueyi's face immediately showed a look of horror.
A flash of blood streaked across the face, and crimson blood splattered from Shen Xu's heart onto the faces of the two women.
Li Xiaoyi licked the blood from the corner of her mouth. "Sister, you said we were the best of sisters. What I have, you should naturally have too."
Looking at the long sword deeply embedded in Shen Xu's heart, Shang Xueyi knelt slowly beside Shen Xu's corpse in a daze. The blood flowing from his heart quickly stained her blood-red dress, turning the last trace of warm yellow on it completely crimson.
"Sister, I originally intended to let the Four Directions Sword Alliance go." Shang Xueyi reached out and clenched her fist, then crushed Shen Xu's corpse completely. All the blood she squeezed out turned into a bright red blood bird and merged into her body.
"Whatever!" Li Xiaoyi's eyes showed no emotion whatsoever.
……
The cold, the endless cold, froze his soul completely.
As his consciousness sank into darkness, a brilliant light shone from his soul, and his two lifetimes slowly emerged in his mind like a dreamlike bubble.
Shen Xu knew he was going to die, but he wasn't afraid. He was already destined to die, and his death was something he had expected.
Although his life was filled with too many regrets, too much hatred, and too much resentment, he showed no emotional fluctuations as he faced death; instead, he felt only a faint sense of relief.
He can finally rest.
As that brilliant light gradually faded, a broken soul was lost in the darkness.
In the desolate universe, a mangled old man's corpse sat quietly, his body shrouded in thick, inky black mist, like a heavy black curtain that completely obscured the brilliant starlight around him.
Strands of blood, radiating endless starlight, were continuously seeping from his mutilated body, drifting into the vast and empty void.
In an instant, the mutilated corpse opened an eye that resembled a black hole without warning, bearing the vicissitudes of countless years and shrouded in an aura of chaos.
A withered, decaying hand, radiating a starlight-like brilliance, slowly probed into the void. Black ripples appeared out of thin air, instantly disturbing billions of miles of space in the universe. Centered on the withered hand, which was shrouded in chaotic energy, the ripples formed a black vortex like a black hole.
When that hand was withdrawn from the black vortex, it instantly transformed into stardust large enough to illuminate the entire void and dissipated into the universe. A shattered soul drifted into the depths of the universe along with the stardust.
Then the entire universe returned to a deathly silence.
……
Shen Xu suddenly opened his eyes and found himself lying in a small wooden house.
"I didn't die? I remember Xiao Yi really tried to kill me. Could it be that the witch saved me?" A series of questions kept popping into his mind.
"This place, and the spot where my sword hangs, looks so much like the little wooden hut I lived in when I was in the outer sect of the Green Bamboo Sword Sect." Shen Xu looked at the scene before him and couldn't help but fall into deep confusion.
"Who sent me back? Wait a minute! Wasn't the Green Bamboo Sword Sect wiped out by the Blood Fiend Palace?"
Shen Xu became more and more confused. He really couldn't figure out what had happened during the time he was unconscious.
He pinched his arm; the pain told him it was all real, but it also reminded him of something else: "My cultivation level? How did it become the Qi Nourishing Realm? Was the price of survival so high?"
No matter what, surviving is the luckiest thing.
But those two women were terrifying; each one was stronger than the last, and he had absolutely no chance to fight back. Even now, thinking about it still evokes a sense of dread. At the time, he genuinely thought he was going to die, having witnessed it all.
But he could only escape for a while, not forever. He would run into the two of them again sooner or later, and whether he would be as lucky as he was now was another matter. Thinking about this, he couldn't help but feel a headache coming on.
Now that things have come to this, let's go out and see who saved him before making any further plans!
Shen Xu got up from the bed and pushed open the door, only to see a lush, green bamboo forest, with wooden houses like the one he was in densely distributed within it.
"The bamboo forest behind Cuiyun Mountain, the residence of the outer disciples of the Qingzhu Sword Sect!"
"This is impossible! I clearly saw with my own eyes that the Green Bamboo Sword Sect had been wiped out." Shen Xu murmured in disbelief.
"Shen Xu, why are you up so late today!" A young man in black passing by said curiously.
"Wu Qi, you're not dead!!" Shen Xu exclaimed in utter shock upon seeing Wu Qi.
"You're the one who's dead! Get the hell out of here!" Wu Qi said, then walked into a wooden hut next to him without looking back.
"Something's not right!" Shen Xu hurriedly ran to a nearby pond and saw a familiar young face on the water.
He took a deep breath, somewhat unable to believe what he was seeing, and his heart began to pound violently.
"Qingzhu Sword Sect, Wu Qi!" Shen Xu murmured repeatedly, his eyes gradually clearing from confusion, and finally sparkling with ecstatic joy.
"I've traveled back ten years!!"
"This time, I'm determined to stay far away from those two crazy women!" Shen Xu's gaze gradually turned cold.
