Chapter 19 Victor Brian
Chapter 19 Victor Brian
When I arrived at the classroom that was marked HA213, I opened the door and went inside.
This classroom is where the game's story begins. After all, this is where Ethan, as the protagonist, spent his time.
Inside the classroom, students were scattered in various corners, some chatting with friends, others busy preparing for the upcoming lecture. As I entered the classroom, I noticed some curious glances, but for the most part, I was ignored, just like any other ordinary student.
I walked to the back of the classroom, where an empty seat awaited me. This spot offered a clear view of the entire classroom, which suited me perfectly. I preferred quiet observation to drawing attention to others. Although Morse was forced to choose this seat, it proved to be more suitable for me.
Sitting down, I looked around, observing the different students in the class. Some were taking notes diligently, while others were chatting quietly. The students' talents and abilities varied, and each had their own unique characteristics and potential.
As I sat down, I overheard someone next to me talking about a recent dungeon exploration. Apparently, a group of students had encountered a powerful monster and narrowly escaped death. The story was full of thrilling details, and the other students listened with rapt attention, completely captivated by the adventure.
Ahead of me, a group of friends were discussing their plans for the upcoming weekend.
“You should go to our guild’s newly discovered dungeon,” one of them suggested, eager for an adventure.
"Really?" her friend replied with a smile. But I could vaguely see a hint of envy hidden on his face. Her face stiffened slightly, her eyes narrowed, and she gripped her sleeves tightly, which was enough to show that she was actually very unhappy.
“This person wants to sabotage her friend’s guild,” I thought. Being trapped in the necklace had driven me nearly mad; if it weren’t for my ability to observe everything around Morse, I probably would have been gone. So, I knew who this girl was.
"Hypocritical people are really interesting..."
I listened quietly, finding some enjoyment in the various rumors and stories everyone shared. Each student had their own ambitions and dreams, while others harbored their own schemes and envy—it was quite intriguing.
Squeak
Just then, the door opened, revealing three figures, which immediately attracted the attention of the entire class.
The first was a handsome young man with dark chestnut hair and green eyes. He led the two men behind him, exuding an aura of authority.
His neat clothes and subtle soot stains indicated that they had been ironed that morning. His accessories, which enhanced his appearance, suggested that he was someone who valued his looks.
"Victor Black"
I looked at that man and thought to myself.
"Ethan's rival is also the top student in the grade."
He is the main rival of the protagonist Ethan, and the clash of their talents and personalities has attracted a lot of attention.
Judging from his neat clothes and noble demeanor, the boy in front of me comes from a prestigious family.
The Black family is a lineage of human hunters, and Victor is no exception. Furthermore, he is the son of the world's third-ranked hunter, which further demonstrates his strength.
His sharp eyes were enough to tell that he was indeed a skilled fighter and hunter. He was renowned for his proficiency with the longsword and took great pride in it.
"Tsk tsk! A bunch of bumpkins who've never seen the world." He sneered at the students watching him and walked to the front row. His followers followed closely behind; they were all there to fawn over him for the sake of their families and connections.
Upon hearing this, the students immediately looked away, afraid of offending him. Some even showed expressions of dissatisfaction.
"As expected, that's the kind of person he is," I thought to myself.
Just as he was about to continue his tirade, the door was pushed open again, revealing a familiar figure I had seen in the cafeteria on Saturday.
"what......"
Seeing this, Victor shut his mouth, which was about to curse. The person in front of the door was Julia, and he happened to like her.
At the start of the game, Victor was a well-known elitist. He believed in his superior lineage and talent, which made him appear aloof and arrogant in front of others.
His initial attitude led to some conflicts with other students, but due to Victor's background, these conflicts never escalated further.
After all, he is one of the most talented human hunters of his generation, and his father is the third strongest in the world, which has brought him arrogance and privilege.
Before entering the Hunter Academy, he was raised by the best institutions in the world.
Therefore, during his childhood training, Victor's feelings underwent an unexpected transformation, and he met the talented and kind-hearted Julia. The moment Victor saw Julia, he fell in love with her at first sight.
Because of his obsession with aesthetics, he believed Julia was the most beautiful girl in the world, and thus he became infatuated with her.
That's why he likes Julia.
Following Julia, the other two girls also entered the room.
One of them had fiery red hair and an arrogant smile on his face.
The other one had green hair and red eyes, and was stunningly beautiful. Instantly, almost all the boys in the classroom were stunned, staring at them.
"Hey! Isn't that the cool guy? Getting into mischief again, just like always." Irina greeted Victor as she walked toward the front row with a loud voice and a smile.
“Shut up!” Victor shrugged, but Irina didn’t mind at all.
"Why, has Prince Black gone mad?" Irina asked, her grin still on.
"..." He glared angrily at Irina, but despite his powerful background, he didn't make a move. Because Irina, like him, was the daughter of the world's most powerful fire mage.
"Looks like you've had enough fun this morning."
As she spoke, Irina sat down behind Victor, a smile on her face. This smile might seem ordinary to others, but I knew why she was so determined to argue with Victor.
"Because Irina likes Victor." Although it's not explicitly stated in the game, I can clearly see some indications. Irina shows certain subtle signs when she's portrayed as a romantic interest in Ethan's route.
The little gestures she makes when she plays with her hair, the way she rubs her thumb against her index finger...
Irina has a fiery temper and she likes people who are stronger than her, and Victor is one of them.
"But I'm more certain about his appearance," I thought.
Following closely behind, Julia, with a bright smile on her face, and Alice, with a calm expression, sat in the third row.
But before Alice sat down, I saw her look at me.
Given that I saw her practicing archery at the shooting range, it wasn't surprising that she noticed me as well. However, her brief interest vanished after a millisecond of staring.
The three men in front continued their conversation, while Victor's two attendants had already taken their seats far away from him. This was because Victor was accompanied by three women.
'squeak'
But then the door opened again, revealing three more people, this time all boys.
"Ethan, don't think you can outrun me."
"Damn... wait three months... I'll definitely run faster than you..."
"Alright, that's enough."
"Sigh... Karl, here you are again."
"Alright, alright, Lucas, let's stop for now. Everyone's watching us."
And so, our main character and two supporting characters made their appearances one after another, and the classroom became lively once again.
Hey, good morning.
Ethan greeted the other main characters with a smile.
"Tsk tsk. Don't talk to me." Victor simply responded with a cold laugh.
“Victor, don’t be rude to him.”
However, after hearing Julia's words, he immediately did a complete 180-degree turn and changed his attitude. "Okay, it was my fault."
“Yes, that’s more like it.” Julia was an easygoing person; she didn’t realize the implications of her actions and gestured for the three of them to come over. “Come on, class is about to start.”
"Tsk tsk..." I saw Irina glaring at Julia. Knowing that the man she liked had shown interest in another girl, her pride must have been deeply hurt, and it was clear she was having a hard time controlling her emotions.
"A strange relationship..."
When they sat down in their seats, the classroom was still filled with chattering laughter, and the atmosphere was very lively.
Ethan, a grin on his face, gossiped, "Lucas, tell us what happened to you last night. I heard some strange noises coming from your room."
Lucas blushed slightly and cleared his throat. "It's nothing, just a little accident. I spilled some potions while I was doing a potion experiment."
“Huh? It sounds like the whole alchemy lab exploded,” Ethan joked, prompting Irina to giggle and nod in agreement.
“Don’t blow up the whole dorm, we still need a place to sleep,” she interjected, drawing a scornful grin from Lucas.
“I’ll remember that,” Lucas replied with a smile. However, I didn’t miss the unfriendly look he gave Ethan.
Then he turned to Carl and asked, "And you, Carl? Did anything exciting happen last night?"
Carl looked reserved and serious, tilting his head slightly as he pondered the events of yesterday.
"Nothing exciting happened yesterday, but on Saturday night, I heard some strange noises coming from the forest."
Hearing this, my ears perked up. It was clear that what he was talking about concerned me.
"How could the sound travel over there? This guy must have some special skill, or a passive skill related to perception," I thought to myself.
To see if they knew anything, I pricked up my ears and listened intently.
Lucas: "Strange sound?"
Carl: "It sounds like the roar of some monster."
Lucas: "Did you get checked?"
Carl: "I was going to go, but my mom called, so I didn't."
Lucas: "Really?"
Carl: "Of course, mother always comes first."
Lucas: "Sigh..."
"I heard some sounds too," Alice said, jumping into the conversation.
Alice: "When I returned to my dorm after archery practice, I saw a group of instructors running into the forest."
Lucas: "Hmm? So, what happened?"
Alice: "I don't know either. I asked what happened, and they said I should go back to my dorm."
Lucas: "Hmm, I wonder what happened..."
"Hey? Now that we've started this conversation, what about those three 'trash'?" Irina asked suddenly, looking at the three empty seats.
Lucas: "Who?"
Irina: "I mean, those three guys who were sitting there talking loudly."
Lucas: "Ah, you mean Dylan and the other two."
Irina: "Yeah, those rubbish."
Lucas: "I don't know. What do you think this has to do with them, Victor?"
Victor: "I don't care about trash."
Lucas: "...You're still the same."
'Squeak'
Just as they were about to continue their conversation, the door was suddenly pushed open, revealing a woman dressed in a serious manner with a stern face.
"Quiet."
Quiet the classroom immediately...
