Chapter 10 Preparations for Revenge
Chapter 10 Preparations for Revenge
"Sigh... I'm tired..." I murmured to myself. I had been training in front of the robot for quite some time.
When I throw myself into battle, pushing my physical and mental limits, time seems to blur.
As I continued to improve, minutes seemed to stretch into hours. I faced wave after wave of robotic opponents, adapting and evolving with each encounter. With every swing of my dagger, my control over my magic increased, and the energy bestowed upon me by the Crimson Moon became more refined and powerful.
But eventually, my body could no longer keep up with the demands of the high-intensity training. Fatigue gradually crept in, overwhelming every movement. This indicated that I had reached my limit.
All I could do was go back to my room. After all, no matter how much I wanted to train, I needed to let my body rest.
With that thought in mind, I started walking towards my room. The sun was already high in the sky, indicating that the busiest time of day had arrived. The school's playground was filled with the sounds of students talking.
"It's so noisy." I never like daytime; I much prefer staying up late. Add to that the muscle soreness, and my head was buzzing with the excitement of training, and my mood was a bit awful.
Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed a pile of packages by the door. "...The delivery was really fast."
The materials I ordered were not expensive. There were only three different herbs, used to brew a potion called 'Sedling'.
Its effects are simple. After the drug is injected, it can improve training efficiency in three ways.
The first, "Neural Enhancement," improves the ability to quickly master new skills and tactics. The second, "Cellular Enhancement," allows for more effective absorption and utilization of magical energy, powering their training. The third, "Accelerated Regeneration," speeds up bodily recovery, making training more frequent and intense.
In some ways, this is essentially one of the best training drugs available. However, it also has a drawback: your muscles and head will be extremely sore after training. Because its effects can reach the cellular level, the pain can be quite intense...
Therefore, I prepared a second dose.
"Rebirth Wine," a medicinal wine that enhances recovery efficiency, helps the body recover quickly by accelerating cell regeneration and promoting rapid wound healing. The potion's magical infusion properties harmonize with the individual's magical flow, stimulating a deep sense of vitality and renewal. The energy conservation mechanism is amplified, enabling the body to effectively allocate resources for regeneration and repair.
These two medicines are exactly what I need. I grabbed the herbs and began to crush them all, extracting their essence as I went.
Finally, there's the Moke rye juice brought from the student cafeteria.
As one of the world's best colleges, the college's food is highly focused on student progress. Therefore, in a sense, it is a panacea in itself.
Now, all I have to do is heat up the moch rye juice, mix it with the herbal extract, and drink it.
After drinking the medicine, a surge of energy rushed through my body. But along with this energy came a sharp pain.
"what......"
I felt like every muscle and fiber in my body was stretched to its limit. The regenerative properties exacerbated this feeling and amplified the discomfort.
"Forehead......"
I gritted my teeth, enduring the pain, and let the medicine work its magic. Beads of sweat appeared on my forehead as I felt the revitalizing effect. Although the pain was excruciating, it was a necessary sacrifice for the accelerated healing and regeneration to come.
As time passed, the pain gradually subsided, giving me a sense of rebirth and vitality. The effects of the medication began to stabilize within my body, allowing me to regain control of my mind and body.
"Huh...huh..."
This process will be my task for the foreseeable future, and I stood up. Although the effects were good, relying on the potion for recovery wasn't a long-term solution. "I can only use it for two weeks at most," I thought, remembering the game's mechanics.
If you continue to rely on medication in this situation, your natural healing ability will decline, which will have negative effects in the long run.
"However, I feel completely refreshed now..." With that thought, I left the room, picked up my preparations again, and headed towards the training ground.
......
With my gear in hand, I set off on my way back to the training ground. However, on the way, I needed to buy some things for tonight's preparations.
Arriving at the entrance of the academy's student shop, I pushed open the glass door and went inside. The shop was brightly lit, and the sleek white display cases showcased a dazzling array of magical items. Soft electronic music echoed throughout the shop, creating a pleasant atmosphere.
Then, I immediately began looking for the items I needed.
'Holy Light Scroll' and 'Lightning Ball'
When I saw these two commonly used low-level items, I checked their prices.
Holy Light Scroll: 250 Val
Lightning Ball: 200 valor
Seeing that these two items would cost me almost all of my remaining wealth, I knew this was a chance for me to try, after all, it was very important to me.
I called over a shop assistant, a young mage in an academy uniform. "Excuse me, I'd like to purchase a Holy Light Scroll and a Lightning Strike Orb, thank you."
The shop assistant smiled and nodded, then carefully took the item out of the display case.
A moment later, the shop assistant handed me the items in a bag bearing the college logo. "Thank you for your purchase," she said, her voice filled with genuine enthusiasm. "I hope these items will be of assistance in your magical endeavors."
I nodded and walked back towards the training field. After all, today would prove their importance...
......
Upon arriving at the training ground, the moment I stepped into the open space, the familiar atmosphere overwhelmed me; everywhere I heard the sounds of clashing weapons and shouts from students.
I glanced around, looking for a place to continue training. Since I had already completed today's practical training, I could only practice my skills on the mannequins.
The training ground was still bustling with activity, students engaging in various forms of combat, honing their skills, and pushing their limits. Finally, I spotted an open space around the corner, away from the main crowd. It was a secluded space, offering privacy and focus. Without hesitation, I headed there, ready for another round of high-intensity training.
Actually, as of now, I know there are many more advanced special skills out there than this one.
But there's a reason I haven't received them yet. It's because I want to strengthen my fundamentals.
Even if there are other unique or more advanced combat skills in the game, in most cases, understanding the general skills of the weapons you need to use will actually improve your understanding of those skills.
Therefore, players usually complete the mastery of basic skills first. Because, to some extent, basic knowledge is actually one of the most important things.
And so I began my dagger training, hacking and slashing while memorizing the techniques of basic dagger fighting. Basic dagger fighting has four techniques, or stances.
The first type. Thorns. A stance that emphasizes skill and precision.
The second type. Shadow Blade. A move that primarily combines agility and stealth elements.
The third method: piercing. This emphasizes a stance that prioritizes speed and momentum, utilizing a dagger for rapid and powerful stabbing.
The final style is the Dance of the Snake. This technique emphasizes fluidity and evasion, utilizing the dagger's agile and varied movements. The Dance of the Snake is nimble and contorted, mimicking the gliding motion of a snake, blending the three styles into one.
Each of the three has its own strengths. But ultimately, they are all fundamental skills that a person needs to master.
And so, I started training again.
......
"I feel like I've improved a lot..." I thought to myself as I looked at the training dummy I'd been hacking at for a while.
My control over magic power is gradually getting better and better, although I don't feel that my increased strength is that great.
After training at noon, I ate something quick and then went back to the training ground to continue training. This will be the last training session for today. Tomorrow, I plan to buy myself a bow to test my ranged attack.
"I feel the weapon's material isn't good enough, or perhaps my magic isn't suitable," I thought to myself. Today I need to determine my attribute [Moon], which is a mystery to me.
"Let's stop for now." Just as I was thinking this, I sensed the presence of three people around me.
"The fish are here..." I murmured.
