Chapter 481 Even Colder
Chapter 481 Even Colder
He walked further into the hall and stopped in front of a heavy wooden door. Behind it lay the enemy's command center. Su Ming took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
There were footsteps inside the door, and then it opened. A man in a black suit appeared at the door, his eyes sharp, as if he could see through everything. Su Ming did not retreat, looking directly into the man's eyes and said calmly, "I have come to negotiate with you."
The other party's eyes narrowed, and then a hint of sneer appeared: "Negotiate? What qualifications do you think you have to negotiate with us?"
"I know your goal," Su Ming said calmly, his eyes never leaving the other party. "I know the plan behind you, and I also know your weaknesses. You can choose to continue chasing me, or choose to talk to me."
"Do you really think you can control the situation?" The man's tone was tinged with contempt. "You are just an executor, a tool to be commanded. Do you think you can shake our plan?"
Su Ming's heart sank slightly, but he remained undeterred. He knew his enemies wouldn't easily believe him, let alone let him go. He had to offer a stronger bargaining chip to get them to consider negotiations.
"You are nothing more than a chess piece on the chessboard," Su Ming whispered, his eyes piercing the darkness as he gazed directly at the other party. "Your superiors are more complicated than you imagine. You don't know that behind you, someone has already begun to change the situation."
A hint of surprise flashed across the man's eyes, but he quickly regained his composure. "What do these words of yours prove?"
"It proves that your plan has begun to collapse." Su Ming's voice became more determined, "And I am the only force you can rely on."
The other man was silent for a moment, clearly moved by Su Ming's words. Although he didn't fully believe it, he knew that the young man before him was no easy opponent. Su Ming's eyes revealed an unprecedented determination and boldness, an aura that made him feel a little apprehensive.
"Okay." The man finally spoke, his tone still cold. "What do you want to talk about?"
Su Ming felt a flicker of unease; the situation before him was more complicated than he had anticipated. Although the atmosphere at the negotiation table had eased slightly, he knew his enemies would not let him off easily. Furthermore, he had a strong intuition that some hidden conspiracy was brewing behind the scenes.
"Is your plan beginning to crumble?" the enemy man sneered, his eyes gleaming with disdain and suspicion. Su Ming said nothing more, simply scanning his surroundings, taking in every detail. Just then, he suddenly heard light footsteps coming from the end of the corridor, and faintly discernible figures approaching.
His heartbeat suddenly accelerated, and Su Ming's eyes instantly became alert. He didn't react immediately, but slowly turned his head and looked at the man. The man didn't seem to notice anything unusual, still maintaining his contemptuous smile. But Su Ming felt an aura of unease surrounding him from all directions.
He frowned slightly, his mind rapidly analyzing the situation. The enemy had clearly begun preparations, seemingly anticipating his decision. The atmosphere of the negotiations, though superficially calm, was fraught with undercurrents. His intuition told him this was a carefully laid trap.
"What exactly are you waiting for here?" Su Ming's voice was calm and steady, but his eyes did not leave the approaching figures.
The enemy man raised his eyebrows, seeming a little surprised that Su Ming could actually detect this. He chuckled softly and said slowly, "You are indeed not simple, to be able to detect this. However, you can't escape today no matter what."
Before he finished speaking, Zheng Yaoxian's voice suddenly came from Su Ming's earphones, low and urgent: "Su Ming, be careful! There are people waiting outside!"
"I know," Su Ming responded quickly, a surge of nervousness and anxiety welling up in his heart. Zheng Yaoxian's warning was like a sharp knife, slicing through the fog in his heart. It turned out that the enemy had been well prepared, not only here but also outside, with layers of defense already laid out.
"You want to escape?" The enemy man chuckled and pointed at the shadows nearby. "Do you think you can escape?"
Su Ming didn't hesitate any longer. His body reacted quickly, and he lightly dodged toward the shadows to the side. Simultaneously, a series of thoughts raced through his mind—he had to break the enemy's encirclement to have a chance of escaping. And now, the only person he could rely on was Zheng Yaoxian, the man who remained calm and never easily revealed his flaws.
He quickly dialed Zheng Yaoxian's number: "Master, there is an enemy ambush outside. I am surrounded."
Zheng Yaoxian's calm and steady voice came from the headset: "Calm down, Su Ming. You must control the situation and delay as much as possible. I will arrange for support and keep communications open."
Su Ming took a deep breath, gripped his weapon tightly, and scanned his surroundings. He knew his current situation was extremely dangerous; the enemy outside could attack at any moment. All he could do was stall for time and wait for Zheng Yaoxian's support.
"Do you think you can control this situation?" the enemy man's voice sounded again, with a hint of sarcasm and disdain. "We knew you would come, but we're just giving you a chance to see how long you can hold out."
Su Ming didn't respond, his eyes growing even colder. Every provocation from the enemy only strengthened his resolve. He knew the enemy wouldn't give him many chances, and he had to find a breakthrough as quickly as possible.
Suddenly, he heard a slight noise, as if someone was quietly approaching from behind. His heartbeat quickened, and he quickly turned, his weapon pointed at the shadowy figure. But when he saw the figure, his heart tightened—it was a familiar face, the enemy man he had just spoken to.
"Do you want to escape?" The enemy man smiled and his tone was full of provocation.
"You're right." Su Ming responded coldly, his eyes like sharp blades. "I do want to escape, but you don't give me much choice."
The enemy man's smile gradually disappeared, replaced by a cold look: "Do you think you can escape?"
Su Ming didn't answer. His eyes swept around, quickly assessing his current situation. The enemies outside were approaching, and he was trapped deep within the building, with almost no escape route. His only option was to fight hard and buy time.
