Chapter 246: Peace Gradually Returned to the Woods
"If we can interfere with their communications, they won't be able to receive instructions." A Ling's eyes flashed with inspiration, and she seemed to have a clearer idea in her mind.
"That's right, we need to find their communication equipment." Su Ming responded and made up his mind secretly.
The two men quickly searched the documents in the box, hoping to find clues about the communication equipment. As time passed, the sense of urgency grew.
"The location of the communications room is mentioned here!" A Ling shouted excitedly, pointing to a map on a document.
"Great, we must go there as soon as possible." Su Ming immediately felt a surge of excitement, knowing that this was the critical moment for them to reverse the situation.
"But there may be guards outside the warehouse." A Ling's voice was filled with worry, and her eyes revealed fear of the unknown.
"We must act carefully and try to avoid them." Su Ming was also nervous. After all, if they were discovered, the consequences would be unimaginable.
"I will follow you closely and try not to make any noise." A Ling took a deep breath and tried to stay calm.
"Let's go," Su Ming said softly, secretly warning himself not to let his guard down. They slowly pushed open the warehouse door and peered outside cautiously.
It was still quiet outside, with only the sound of a gentle breeze rustling the leaves. They quickly slipped out and moved cautiously towards the communications room.
"Here!" A Ling whispered, pointing to a dim building in front of her, her nerves tense.
"Quick, go check it out." Su Ming whispered, silently hoping to sneak in. They went around the side of the building, trying to find a hidden entrance.
"There's a window here." A Ling found a small window and showed excitement on her face, "We can go in from here."
"Good idea." Su Ming nodded and climbed up quickly. A Ling followed closely behind him, her heart full of anticipation and nervousness.
They carefully climbed through the window and entered a dark room. Surrounded by various equipment, Su Ming's eyes lit up instantly.
"This is the communications room!" he said excitedly, with a fighting spirit surging in his heart.
"We have to find the communication equipment quickly." A Ling was also excited and quickly walked to the center of the room.
Su Ming looked around and found a complex communication device hanging on the wall. "This is their system."
"What should we do?" A Ling's eyes flickered with anticipation. "Should we disrupt the communication?"
"Yes, we need to find its control panel." Su Ming searched quickly, thinking secretly in his mind how to operate it.
"There is a controller here." A Ling pointed to a device, and a glimmer of hope surged in her heart.
"Hurry, help me connect this." Su Ming, filled with urgency, hurriedly asked her for help. They quickly worked together to try to connect the device to the communication system.
"I'm a little nervous." A Ling said softly, her palms slightly sweating, and she could feel the pressure around her.
"Don't worry, everything will be fine." Su Ming tried to comfort her, even though he was also very nervous. He focused on the operation and prayed in his heart.
Just as they were busy, they heard several hurried footsteps outside, and Su Ming's heart suddenly rose to his throat.
"They are coming!" A Ling was panicked and looked around at a loss.
"Hide!" Su Ming quickly pressed her shoulders and gestured for her to hide behind the table. They held their breath, their hearts almost bursting with nervousness.
The footsteps were getting closer and closer. Su Ming tried to stay calm, thinking to himself, "I can't be discovered."
Just then, the door was pushed open and several guards walked in with serious expressions, as if they were looking for something.
"I think they noticed we're not in the warehouse anymore," one of them said, glancing around.
"We have to check here quickly." Another person continued, and Su Ming and A Ling's hearts almost jumped into their throats.
"We absolutely cannot be discovered," Su Ming muttered to himself, desperately suppressing his inner fear. Ah Ling clenched his hand, appearing extremely nervous.
The guards began to search the room. Su Ming's heartbeat grew faster and faster, nearly bursting out of his chest. He quietly gestured to A Ling, signaling her to be quiet.
"Look this way." One of the guards walked towards the direction where they were hiding, and Su Ming's heart instantly sank to the bottom.
"Hurry, don't move." Su Ming whispered, trying to calm himself. Ah Ling closed her eyes tightly, feeling uneasy.
Just as they held their breath, the guard walked to the table and Su Ming could almost feel the heat of his breath.
"There doesn't seem to be anything suspicious here," the guard said, a hint of hesitation in his tone.
"Don't miss any details." Another guard urged. Su Ming thought to himself that something was wrong and felt that danger was approaching.
At this moment, A Ling accidentally touched a folder next to her, which fell to the ground with a crisp sound.
"What's that sound?" The guard immediately became alert and turned to look over here.
"Oh no!" Su Ming's heart tightened and he quickly grabbed A Ling, trying to find a way to escape.
"Hurry, run to the back!" he whispered, his heart in panic, but he knew he had to act quickly.
Ah Ling nodded, and the two of them quickly rushed out from behind the table and ran towards another window. Their hearts were filled with anxiety, but they knew that their only way to survive was to escape.
"Hurry!" Su Ming pushed the window open and pulled A Ling out together. The night outside was like a black curtain, covering their figures.
They ran quickly towards the forest, and the guards' shouts came from behind them. The tense atmosphere grew stronger in the night sky.
"We can't stop!" Su Ming said as he ran, constantly urging himself and A Ling to keep up the speed.
"I know!" A Ling panted and tried hard to catch up with him. Although she was frightened, she still gritted her teeth and struggled forward.
In this dark forest, their figures seemed to blend into the night, only the firm determination burning in their hearts drove them forward.
While running, Su Ming and A Ling's hearts were beating like thunder. The shouts and footsteps in their ears gradually faded away, but they still made people shudder.
"We need to find a place to hide." Su Ming said as he ran, feeling that time was running out and he might be caught up at any time.
"There's a bush over there!" Ah Ling pointed ahead, her eyes gleaming with hope. They quickly ran in that direction and hid in the low bushes.
"I hope they won't find us." A Ling's voice was so low that it was almost inaudible, and her heart was filled with anxiety.
"We have to try to stay quiet," Su Ming said softly, forcing himself to remain calm. He knew in his heart that every second now was a struggle between life and death.
A few minutes later, the woods gradually returned to silence, the only sound being the gentle breeze ruffling the leaves. Su Ming slowly breathed a sigh of relief, but the tension still lingered in his heart.
"We need to reassess the situation," Su Ming whispered. "The plan for the communications equipment has been initiated, but we must consider the next step."
